For those thinking the defense held its own we gave the O horrendous field position by never getting any 3 & outs.

Possessions started at

Own 25
Own 25 (TD)
Own 7
Own 11

Yep the defense reverted ton2024 watching UL convert on long ( 8+ yds to go) 3rd downs time and time again RUNNING THE BALL!!!
 
Are you blaming the defense for the, at least two, holding penalties we had on special teams which impacted were those possessions started?

Yes and no. It held its own in the fact that it didn’t give up points after any of our turnovers. 1 turnover = 4 EPA. But I think defense is also about stopping momentum and timely stops. The 3rd and long off tackle was a back breaker. The opening two drives we never recovered. It wasn’t a great game from any unit
 
At this point just call fair catch on kickoffs. We have a poor return unit capped off by our inability to not get a holding call on every return attempt.

The O sucked but my point was they weren't exactly given any field position to work with b/c the D couldn't stop stepping on its own ****.
