I was really encouraged by his start - he deserved better. And he was as calm as I have seen him given the setting and his new role. He obviously worked hard in the offseason, e.g. his changeup was really effective.

Agreed. That was some bad luck when he got the soft contact on the ground ball but Toral forgot we were in a shift.

Sounds about right from what we saw. His demeanor was what impressed me the most - he didn't get rattled by the sloppy defense and mental errors, but kept grinding.
