Good bounce back day by Carrier. He definitely needs polish as an outfielder but he looked much more settled out there today. Mostly good for Garland, other than the inning when he went a little berserk. We’ll see if it’s enough for him to edge out McFarlane for the final weekend spot.

Is Gates hurt? I don't understand how he doesn't at least get a DH shot every 3rd game or so, especially w all the RH pitchers we're likely to see.

He’s healthy again, just taking their time with him. I imagine we’ll see him get an AB today. No full time DH for a few weeks and no mound action on that same timeline.
