Favorite All-Time Canes QB

1a. Steve Walsh - Audible to Irvin for that 75-yard bomb in the '87 game vs FSU will live in Canes' lore forever.
1b. Ken Dorsey - Brought us back from the dead, literally and figuratively.

Ken Dorsey

Not the best arm or legs

Ice water in veins though
Genius QB
And not afraid to lead

Jim Kelly

I'd attended the home games for a decade and enjoyed them immensely, but there was never a realistic thought of anything special until Jim Kelly debuted at Penn State. My dad and I had eyes wide open watching that game, especially an early touchdown pass. It almost didn't seem legal for a Canes quarterback to have talent like that.

Suddenly the future mattered

Actually...not really an audible....Walsh told Irvin...if I look your way last before the Snap...I'm going to you....Walsh saw Dedrick Dodge in a bad position...then to make matters worse...Dodge took terrible angle....CB thought he had help over the top....
Funny thing is...Deion had his hands full with Brian Blades...

Great choice. I was in Happy Vally for that game. Dating a girl that went to PSU. Couldn’t get a ticket to get in. Watched it in a dorm full of Penn StAte students. Glorious, even though I missed an all timer in person.

Steve Walsh. He brought home the Natty to it's rightful home the year after Testaverde broke my in the Fiesta Bowl. The time between the end of that Fiesta Bowl and the start of the '87 season was probably the most miserable I've ever been as a football fan. Walsh and the '87 Canes righted a wrong and cheered a little boy up..

I'm going off sheer memory here so don't quote me, but I could've sworn that play was originally suppose to be a 10-yard out for Irvin. Instead, Walsh changed it to a take-off. I was a teenager at the time so I could be wrong but that's what I remember.
