False Commentary about Offense

I think the dominant commentary on this site that WRs are not lining up to come here because of a perceived run-friendly offense is flawed, considering that running backs are also not lining up to come here. Instead aggressive recruiting and winning games is the answer. In the past we give up on a kid that is trending to another school, but now we continue to recruit hard even when the kid commits to another school. We have struggled with inferior teams like Bethune in the past, but not anymore now. When you add aggressive recruiting and winning, they will come.

When have we struggled w/ inferior competition like BCU? Lol We ain’t never struggled w/ a FCS team, like ever.

Dominant wrs were going to bama when they just ran the ball. It’s about relationships bruh lol. Bama had an ancient offense and were landing elite wrs. Cut it out. They will come regardless of record it’s been proven time and time again.

Not really. Julio Jones was the one big name. Once they opened up their offense, they started getting everyone.

I wouldn’t say “struggled” but Miami has had a really hard time putting away the Wildcats in the past.

38-10 in 2012
45-14 in 2011
41-13 in 2017

The average margin of victory in the entire series is only 31.

I know, those games aren’t “close” per se but the average score should be more along the lines of what we got this year. A 28 point win against an FCS team is pathetic for Miami.

Also, for the 10,000th time, it’s got nothing to do with run/pass ratio. It’s actual targets for outside receivers. Key Smith is a STARTER and he got ZERO targets vs Bethune. That’s the system we’re running.

Here’s some interesting stats, in general, about FBS v. FCS teams

So I’ll repeat, we’ve never struggled. It was a hyperbolic statement, in typical over evaluation CIS style.

Furthermore, 2017 was our best yr in the last 18! Lol!! But ****, since we’re in a Hyperbolic mood, **** those 1992 Canes only beating FAMU 38-0! No wonder they lost the Sugar Bowl to Bama; they “struggled” to put up 38 on FAMU! Fckers!

38 was a lot more in 1992 than it is today. I mean maybe you’ve missed the last three decades of football but teams score a lot more now.

See, I can make obnoxious sarcastic comments too.

We are not that good. We will beat up the sissy teams and struggle mightily with very good teams. Very unimpressed with the defense especially the DB's that were awful.

We don’t even have top flight wrs. Fans think we are going to win a NC lol

R u just trying to be a contrarian this day? Lol

Bama didn’t open up their playbook until 2013

Class of 2009:

No, that wasn’t being obnoxious nor sarcastic; it’s tempering ur proverbial contrarian way on this board. And to further prove u wrong, that same season we beat Temple 48-0 & SDSU 63-17. So again, ur **** poor examples had zero merits. The OP was being hyperbolic, & ur cape have zero strength. We ain’t NEVER struggled against a FCS opponent. Last week, 2 yrs ago, 10 yrs, we have laid paws on FCS teams, either playing w/ our food or just being voracious.

Honestly, I’ve never heard of any of the guys on that list prior to Cooper. Were they actually good players? I’m really not that shocked that Nick Saban out recruited Al Golden but comparing those guys to the list of guys they’ve had since 2013 is laughable.

If Manny Diaz had only beaten Bethune Cookman 38-10 would you have been cool with that? To me that would have been a struggle. When you’re favored by 48 but win by 28, it’s not good. Once again, I’m not saying they were close games but there’s also a lot of context. For example, the 2012 game was only 17-7 at the half. And Miami needed two fourth quarter touchdowns just to make the score look presentable.

If they were winning 48-0 and emptied the bench and gave up 17 points, I’d get that. When you have to play your starters deep into the fourth, it’s another story.

Besides it’s all moot anyway because this team very much struggled against a terrible G5 team for at least a half today

Cooper & Norwood were the only two that were drafted, just like Julio was only one drafted. Bama primarily had RBs & Defensive players drafted. Then they evolved to TE’s, WR’s, & QB’s getting drafted.

The point is, despite Bama being a run & defense first team, they still recruited the WR position well, recruiting consistently WRs who were top 247 guys regardless of position.

Maybe If Bama was Bama today vs. Bama yesterday, they would’ve been better known. Doesn’t change the fact that top guys at their position & in the nation committed to them.

Bro, we beat the chit out of BCU in 2019 yr, blood! We smoked them 63-0. Under Diaz, my guy. 1st season as HC. Blanked these bytches. U know how the season went.

In 2021, we blanked CCSU 69-0, doggy. TVD & Garcia couldn’t miss. We know how that season went.

Alfred Golden blanked BCU 45-0 in 2015; we know how that season went.

The same Golden put up a scoreboard of 77-7 (the most points we ever scored in our history) against Savannah St. in 2013. We know how that season went, homie.

So let’s talk stats:
2013-
Miami : 637 total yards (324 rushing)
SST: 183 total yards (144 rushing)

2015-
Miami: 379 total yards (195 rushing)
BCU: 79 total yards (53 rushing)

2019-
Miami: 590 total yards (257 rushing)
BCU: 137 total yards (61 rushing)

2021-
Miami: 739 total yards (322 rushing)
CCSU: 198 total yards (29 rushing)

Now 2022-
Miami: 586 total yards (305 rushing)
BCU: 342 total yards (93 rushing)

Again, ya’ll gotta ease up on these rich, hyperboles bruh. I ain’t never laying my stat hat on us against a FCS opponent.
