Stiil in denial that the team actually ended up at 6-6 but here we are, getting ready for The Independence Bowl sponsored by ZZTop and duck hunters/commanders whatever. Almost zero interest in this game but hoping for a win. Can never root for a loss but I was hoping that if the Canes do get blown out, we might be seeing Golden finally packing his ties for a team up north, but after today's AD presser, even that silver lining of a bad cloud is gone. Win or lose, blow out or no, we are stuck with Golden next year. To be honest, I have no idea how to process this football situation in my mind. Just kind of numb.
This school's sports department continues to give me reasons to say the heck with it and chuck college sports to the side. The football team's continued slide, the baseball team's absence from the World Series and the school putting cheater A-Rod's name on their ball park, my tennis team continuing to miss the NCAA tournament, tearing down the Orange Bowl, forcing the fans to accept that cavern of a stadium, and the list goes on. If it wasn't for the basketball team, what would we have to root for?

Dayum, this is so depressing. Sorry about the downer of post. I'll do my pollyanna rah-rah post when my cold meds kick in.

This program has so many things to look forward to! Just wait until the usual collapse of the recruiting class.... Happens every year, Al and his boys get punked, good thing coley is here

This University has a non sports mentality tradition. Remember this institution cancelled its basketball program shortly after Rick Barry played for them. Had no fieldhouse and played on Miami Beach which was a big drawer for the students. Could it happen again?

When they joined the ACC, maybe they decided then and there that they would be a basketball school now. The evidence sure seems to fit; ranked team, great coach, recent ACC championship, beautiful on-campus arena...

Meanwhile football is barely winning at .500, poor coach, zero ACC championships, no home stadium and OB torn down... yikes.
