Emory Williams [Not in portal]

No I meant I don't care about the 'omg we need a top backup or qb3 just in case' aspect. Whether it's person A or B sure I want the best person possible, but we need a person regardless. And again it's NOT taking away roster spots which was the big thing previously with a guy like Judd. If we were at 85 Id agree with you. Or if I actually thought Judd was making any money...

I think no matter what we need 4-5 QBs on this roster. also I am not so against a guy with less talent but is smart to be in the QB room. NFL does that all the time for a reason. That imo can absolutely be where Emory has value. But that guy has to also be cheap.

I get you think Emory and Judd will never be anything playable but that isn't necessarily fact or means they're completely useless on the roster. Judd does have talent. Will he ever be startable for us, probably not.
"Emory has value."
"Judd does have talent."

What evidence is there that either Emory or Judd will ever be playable?

Judd has talent, but is still battling it out with Luke Nickel for QB3 & has no shot to be QB2 even if Emory leaves...

Nothing gets Canes fans more riled up than discarding players who shouldn't even be here in the first place.

The attachment this fanbase has to mediocrity is really something that should be studied.

I blame the Folden era mostly.
they gladly kick off Carr but hold onto Judd for dear life lol

what actual value does emory have? he isnt smart on the field. hes not athletic. hes not physically gifted.

he can stay on the team if he becomes a walk on and pays his way otherwise go back to Milton

Notice how you added smart "On the field" there? You think NFL teams keep signing Veteran Qbs who have proven they absolutely suck on the field time after time to be backups because they are smart on the field, or off it?

You are sick.
For pointing out exactly what billion dollar valued NFL teams do, but somehow we're too good to do? lol and in the NFL they deem it's worth it even though they have a far stricter roster limit than we have to deal with. Meanwhile they have Actual QB coaches while our Qb coach is also the OC. So do I think it's valuable to have smart backup Qbs in the room if they are cheap and not taking up scholarships needed by others? yes. How valuable? Probably not the most. Better to have them than just not have anyone at all and go into the season with 3 Qbs or fewer? yes.

I have no evidence that hes smart off the field judging by the way he prepped for games

you know for a fact Judd isnt making money? they're all getting some sort of deal. at this point, hes taking away money from someone else
He's probably making much less than a replacement would make that you add from the portal. Thats the point.

Does that same thought process apply to anyone that is good off the field but bad on the field? like what... How many coaches were bad players?

hes going to leave regardless (I.e. getting pushed out next year). may as well speed that process up. if we actually have to get to Judd in season, it means everything went wrong

... If we have someone to replace him. You know I already said If you get a replacement, I'm fine. I'm just saying I'd rather keep Judd as QB4 than not have a Qb4. It's pretty logical.

Also who's pushing him out next year? Only 2 Qbs that are for sure on roster next year are Nickel and Coleman. We going to add another portal guy? or 2nd HS QB? (We should get 2 HS guys every year at this point btw!). Either way we're going to need a QB 4 lol. Unless you think we're adding 3 QBs next offseason, which I doubt.
