It's the ninth offer for Rice.
"Miami is my favorite college team," Rice said. "I've always wanted to go there since I was younger."
Rice said he plans on visiting Miami in the summer.
The four-star recruit is ranked as the nation's No. 27 outside linebacker and the No. 40 prospect in Florida in the 2016 class by 247Sports.com Composite Rankings.

Literally all Al has to do is stay consistent with this kids and Luke will send him our way, no way we can **** up even if he is committed to fsu right now

But, I thought we offered "to late"...lol

Stop putting words in these kids mouth...just report "FACTS"...LOL

Nobody said we offered too late though. It's only two weeks into the 2016 cycle.

It's the point that me and DMoney made that what changed for Miami to all of a sudden offer him? After FSU,Bama, Ohio State and UF offerred...

That's what looks bad. All of a sudden?

I will mention as I did in another thread on this. It's a long way to go but Miami should have been the first to offer this kid regardless as they were already looking at a prospect from his school who plays the same position.

What's good for Miami is that he's planning on visiting and still holds the Canes high.

Nobody has heard of him until like 3 weeks ago.. An offer 2 weeks late will not do much harm especially when miami had 3 backs committed and were probably deciding if they were taking some more which it looks like they may considering the bevy of linebacker offers in the past week

Pete had mentioned him as a kid who shined at SFexpress tryouts back in the beginning of January.

I just find it hard to believe that they didn't know about this kid when they were expressing interest in a kid who plays the same position as him at Norland a while back.

It's the fact about the timing of the offer is what me and DMoney been harping on. What changed? He got offers from FSU, Bama, OSU and UF. Then Miami offered.

This is a kid who is in Miami's backyard. That's the problem I saw. I doubt they didn't run into him before.

I know it will always be hard to identify every kid , I just have major doubts they just happened to miss on this kid when they were recruiting in that school.

Now if this was an offer at two weeks before signing day I would figure he would tell them to ***** off.

As I said it's a long way to go.

Nobody ever said Miami was out of it or too late to get this kid to flip. I happened to mention this kid came out on his own before and said Miami would be his #1 and I was curious on where he would stand if Miami offered.

The fact he is visiting is very good for us.

And my only disagreement is, you should never stop recruiting a position just because you have commitments. Nothing is promised till the LOI is faxed. Me and some others have also expressed Miami's bad LB depth. We do need another linebacker in the class and maybe pushing it 2. They would all have the opportunity to play early because of our very shaky and uncertain depth due to projects and question marks on certain players and not everyone pans out or develops.
