It's fair....it's long overdue,,,,,,,it's about F'ing time ......and now it's Inevitable
and to add further confusion and tension...

"...The current proposal would give colleges and universities the power to block some agreements if they conflict with “existing institutional sponsorship arrangements,” meaning that an athlete might not be able to strike an endorsement deal with Adidas if his or her college already has one with Nike. Other possible restrictions include bans on promoting sports betting and on hiring agents “to secure an opportunity as a professional athlete.”..."

I could see that because the schools do have agreements worth a lot of money. LOL man I can see it now "Let's go down to the hot reporter on the sidelines for the Gatorade half time coaches talk..." Coach slams a Powerade.

what's the deal in FL?

can't the athlete make money off YoutTube, Twitch, etc.? or still some ****boi situation?

This is an issue I talked about before.
Nike and their street agents are in these kids pockets. Every class down here produced at least one sure thing nfl star.
The Nike opening is one big street agent Fck fest imo. I was worried when almost the entire storm 18 class was out there.

Nike provides uniforms for the nfl but athletes signed to adidas or UA can wear those shoes wout any problem.
No fckn way will Alabama allow a player to wear adidas.
We either go Nike or ask adidas to allow Nike kids to wear Nike cleats during games and practice.
If manny finds a way to allow players to wear whatever brand cleats they want it would be huge imo.
If you look at all the frontrunner programs and top 5 recruiting classes they All have one thing in common. They’re all Nike schools.

Alabama could be sponsored by Gucci and they'd still be a top 5 recruiting machine lol

How about both.

Adidas was just named in a lawsuit that they paid Zion’s family for 2 yrs b4 he went to Duke. Why? Well of course they wanted him to go to an Adidas branded school (NC ST)....so yeah, shoe companies play a role, but not as big compared to the prestige of a program.

But sponsorship does play a role for sure. They had a whole article on does sponsorship play a role in recruiting, and it was pretty influential.

If you think Alabama, Georgia, and OSU needs Nike idk what to tell you. Brands run things in College Basketball, Football is ran by boosters and bagman "with no relation to the university".
It has nothing to do with need. It’s a relationship that benefits both.
Nike marketing and talent acquisition is exponentially aggressive compared to the other brands. They sign soccer players as young as 10 years old.
They’re even trying to sign young gymnasts already.
The idea is to funnel them to certain flagship schools and highlight them.
Almost all of the elite players and high draft picks to these schools sign exclusively with Nike. Waddle and Harris already did. Sermon from OSU did already as well.

In a move that likely stings like a mfer Lawrence signed with adidas and it looks like adidas is specifically trying to sign qb’s as they also have a contract with Mahomes. And if they’re specifically going hard after qb’s that’s really good for us.
