Mississippi State getting beaten in this one would put a big hurt on Alabama, Auburn and Georgia's SOS and SOR.

Alabama has two wins over ranked teams, Mississippi State is one of them.
Georgia has two wins over ranked teams, Mississippi State is one of them.
Auburn has two wins over ranked teams, Mississippi State is one of them.

Knock them out of the top 25 and Alabama's shaky resume looks even worse, especially if they lose the Iron Bowl.

Yeah, but on the flip side they're Alabama.

They're getting into the Playoffs regardless.

Lets say Alabama loses the SEC Title game to Georgia, Miami/Oklahoma/Wisconsin all win out. You think 1 loss Bama with their best win is a 24-10 W over LSU is going to take away a spot from Wisky?

1 Loss non conference champion Alabama getting in over undefeated Wisconsin would pretty much ruin the entire concept of the playoff, or at the very least the idea that a group of people could pick the Final 4.

such a joke how much credit these middle of the pack SEC teams get. Mississippi state has one decent win (same win that Troy has btw) in LSU, they got smoked twice and lost to bama and they are ahead of undefeated UCF, (not to mention VT is way down in the 20's)

4 losses in the SEC puts them in the same group with Missouri and Kentucky, don't know if they can climb out of that hole and stay in the top 25 if they lose at home to a team that's 2-5 in conference.

this. they build resumes. Miss St isn’t close to the 14th best team.
 
There is NO rational (non-conspiracy) argument that can explain Miss. St. being ranked 10 spots higher than VT.
 
And my goodness is this awful football from a spectator standpoint. It’s like watching a 400 pound stripper. Sure, there’s technically a naked chick dancing in front of you, but it’s still just plain gross.

Thats how the sec scam works. The middle of the pack sec teams get way over ranked. That way the top sec teams get extra credit when they beat them.
