To be added to the Buffalo Bills staff as an assistant DB coach. But he's not qualified to be the DB coach at Miami? Where are the haters who said just because he played the position doesn't mean he's qualified to coach it???

He got hired, doesn't mean he's good already. We'll see how he does. Banda hasn't proven anything good or bad for us either. Banda knows the defense we're about to run better than Reed considering he's taught it for however man years straight now so that will be a benefit for sure.

Why do you with your 23rd post try and stir up drama. Why dont you just pull up the thread and find out for yourself?

Assistant DB coach.

Under Tim McDonald, who coached secondary for a while at Fresno State and then with the Jets for **** Rexy before getting this gig.

Both serve under defensive coordinator Dennis Thurman, who is a former DB coach. Also on staff: D'Anton Lynn (played corner in college) as Defensive Assistant.

Think its safe to say that the Bills are putting Ed Reed on a staff surrounded by others with experience coaching the position at various levels, a luxury we didn't have.

Well this works out perfectly if he ever does want to come and coach DB at Miami.

He could take the promotion to full blown DB coach in a few years and could even aspire to DC coaching positions if he excels in Buffalo and then wherever he would take a DB position after.

Looking forward to bills training camp ... Autograph time 👍🙌

No, he's not. The Bills' DC is a DB guy, they have a dedicated DB coach, Rob Ryan has experience with DB's, and they have another defensive assistant who focuses on DB's. The Bills can hire as many guys as they want to help out with the DB's, whereas UM can only hire 9 assistant coaches total.

I'm happy for Ed; let's hope he succeeds as a coach and would be willing to take a job at UM down the line.

Good. Let him learn there.

We don't have the privilege to give our UM legends first time coaching jobs.

We've sucked for 10+ years

I was one of the guys who did not want Ed reed as DB coach or DC as some suggested. So he is now def. asst for the buffalo bills, maybe he will get some coaching experience and coach here one day. You do realize our new offensive asst. coach Jon Richt was a offensive asst. for bills last year and most likely would not have been hired if not for his father. ( maybe great coach idk)So if Ed Reeds dad was the coach he would be probably be def. asst. here.....so you got that going for you.

Lots of guys start out as helpers in the NFL. Ed Reed wasn't going to come here and be a GA. So, instead, he's taken a position equivalent to a GA in the NFL.

Fck you!!! Maybe you're one of the clowns who didn't want him as a DB coach! Nobody forced you to read my post *******! Put me on ignore, I don't give a ****, but your comment was expected! Typical!

This is no different than Banda hire here. Banda knows Diaz's system, and obviously Reed knows Ryan's, as he starred in that system.

Not sure if there's an nfl limit on coaches, but both positions seem pretty comparable.

I always felt like he had the ability to coach no question

But let him start somewhere and build a resume man calm the heck down with all that

Former players coach their prior position all the Time

Richt better get him on staff next year before he blows up in da coaching world and Miami won't be able to snag him.

Wait idiots was really trying to say a player who is a hall of famer and was coached by great coaches in the nfl for 15 plus seasons and who not many recruits would turn down when speaking to them is not good enough to be db coach at miami ?!?!?!??!? But mike rumph is ?!??!?

Muahahahah our fanbase man jokers
