If Hill's out but has been passed on the depth chart by OJ, one must wonder if redshirting him in 2024 has been discussed.
 
Haven't heard much about Simeon either, but transfers are known commodities.
They likely play less snaps in camp and are purposeful ones as defined by the coaches.

It probably isn’t a great sign but I don’t know anything. Hopefully he’s just doing his job and they’re picking and choosing who to highlight
 
It's weird isn't it? Weirder still is moving Brown to full time Nickle. That suggested to me they were good with Hill as the other starter. Only other options are Richard, Stafford and now OJ and Mack. But we haven't heard anything about those two either, and the true freshmen aren't starting vs. UF.

Most of the reports recently have been about standout freshmen, which Hill, Barrow, Clark, Barron, Alston are not. I suspect Hill is as advertised and isn’t “surprising” anyone.

We also have not heard much about:
Wes, Popo, Blount, Lightfoot, DPJ, Jaden Harris, and all the people I named above. My point is only that sometimes people meet expectations, not surprise us. I would be very happy if this year’s team “just’ meets expectations.

I have a different take. If he was "as advertised," Canes media would be talking about him in the top 4 or "in the mix" (instead of not talking about him at all). In more private settings, I have noted the conspicuous absence of any reporting regarding Hill for over two weeks. Every other player you named has been referenced by Canes media (whether CIS, Donna, Lake/Gaby, or Flo) over that span.

DPJ, Brown, Richard, and OJ are all referenced by name. Among scholarship CBs, only Stafford, Hill, and Mack weren't named (but D$ has at least mentioned Stafford in more recent posts). A couple of days after that article, Alex Donno talks roster on his pod and Hill and Mack are the only two CBs on scholly not named. More recently Lake and Gaby did a pod and similarly mentioned every CB but Hill and Mack. Lake went so far as to name his unofficial "top 4" at CB and Hill wasn't named.

The silence seems intentional.
