In the words of Clinton Portis, "we don't have to play no 'cute football' here at the U."

U have to play that type of game if you don't have the skilled athletes, the type of players that a team like the University of Miami has. We need a coach playing professional power football and practice that over and over and over relentlessly. We don't need no gimmicks, I say that knowing of course that you need variety, but based on the talents and skills, the type of players that come to the University of Miami we just need to play fundamental football, doesn't mean we don't Blitz, doesn't mean we don't do different schemes, it just means that we don't have to play a gimmick style of offense or defense in order to win. Those schools, given their players abilities have to come up with something to give themselves a chance, the percentages are going to be with the with the talent, the skills and the fundamentals.

do you think spread offenses are gimmicky?

Ask any DC what offense you'd rather defend and they'll tell you a pro style . Say what you will, defensive coaches loathe defending spread offenses. Especially uptempo spread .

That's a fact

I'm more of a multiple offense guy, like Fsu, spread formations but will go I form or two te. But I'm definitely ok with a spread like Urban or Gus run. It's physical football .

There's more than one way to skin a cat.

I loved his perspective made a lot of sense even though the cristobal name popped up but I must say the Herman name is starting to catch on he's being spoken about more often

We need to stick to what made us successful. The thing about playing certain types of offense , the defense has to match up. Because you either is going to be on the field a lot or well rested. If we dominate in the trenches again, I don't care what offense u run.
