Miami has money , lots of it. They just don’t care about sports , the sooner you realize this the better.
Listen I get your point that there maybe more qualified people than Highsmith for AD and your right. I use his name because it is who everyone wants but do you think Highsmith would be a worse AD for our football program than Blake?
Agree with you 100% This athletic department (Blake) blows money on stupid stuff left and right, and then we complain about not have money to convince Brady or Yost to come here. Needs to be much better manager of the money we have available to compete with the big public football factories with our limited resources compared to them.No school worth a **** spends money out of the general fund for athletics. What the athletic department raises and earns, it keeps, point blank period. The sooner our dumbass "Fans" realize that the better. Does Miami have more revenue now than in the past? **** yes, the ACC checks are huge in that regard. Miami cannot and should not spend like a typical football factory, because the donor pool can't sustain that. That said, Miami should be better stewards of the funds that do come in. You don't hire Manny Diaz and pay Temple for the privilege of doing so, especially when you are the best job available at the moment. You don't hire Manny Diaz without interviewing a single outside candidate. That's where Miami has gone wrong: They don't even TRY. If you don't have Alabama money, you look for market inefficiencies and exploit them. Jankovich did that, he hired a guy like Jimmy BEFORE he blew up. Miami doesn't do that anymore, it's always the same tired retreads, because apparently, no one has any imagination and I don't think anyone in the decision making process actually scouts HC candidates.
Miami can and should go out and get an AD worth a **** and stay out of their way. That happens, and the football program improves. Simple logic, but this fanbase falls for the "Miami Guy Bro" crap, and the scumbags in charge know that if they continue to hire that way, they will keep their jobs. The organizational inbreeding has to stop, and it starts with Blake. Fire him, get someone from outside the Miami bubble(I mean someone that has never, I repeat never worked here) and let them clean house. Too much "We've always done things this way" in the athletic department and it shows. It shows on the field, it shows in the boardroom, it shows everywhere.
Just hire Danny White as AD and be done with this drama ....
Or leave it to our freaking bureaucrats at the U to come up with a convoluted solution ...
