Does the QB have to be a leader?

If a wide receiver were dropping balls left and right, we would pull him no questions asked. If a linebacker were missing tackles, he would not play. Nobody would bat an eye if either of these things happened.

So why is the QB position so over-glorified and different? In other words, why the **** do we put this mythical aura around QB's.... like they have to be "leaders" and "do it the right way" and they have to be perfect angels who everyone else is supposed to follow and look up to, when we don't evaluate any other position that way.

To me, a QB is just another football player, who the team depends on to execute their role. Why put all this extra "leadership" baggage on them?

Maybe I'm wrong on this one, but isn't a QB's job just to get the ball to your playmakers? Cutting out all the rest of the bull****, isn't his job just to make the right read, and get the ball to the right spot at the right time? Why do we ask more of them than that?

If getting lined up is the issue, have the center take responsibility for line calls. Many teams have done that successfully in the past.

I just want my QB to get the football to the WR's on a consistent basis, and put our playmakers in a position to succeed. Everything else is just icing on the cake.

"Senior leadership" is overrated, IMO.

EXECUTION wins football games. The problem with Rosier is that he fails at the most basic task a QB should be able to perform - because he's inaccurate, he can't consistently get the ball to his playmakers. He might know what to do, but he's not executing.

Personally, I'd like to see what N'Kosi Perry can do under the bright lights. I refuse to believe he's anywhere near as inaccurate as Malik Rosier. Hopefully, we'll find out.

In certain systems, a QB has to:

- Answer the right questions in the film room
- Make the right throws in controlled practice settings
- Eat the right food
- Get up early
- Have a good looking girlfriend to show he has confidence in himself
- Open doors for others
- Help wounded animals
- Throw accurately in live games

In that specific order.
