Does Richt generally talk so glowingly about his teams?

I keep hearing over and over that hes pleased with the team. To be honest not sure how to take it. Are we really playing that well? Or does he just have a history of consistently speaking positive about his teams, no matter what.

After the first few spring practices, he wasn't quite as high on the returning talent. So much so that some members here were questioning if he was already making excuses for struggling his first season.

that was spring though . . . he has given alot of high praise this camp and i'm not sure how to judge it

Seeing as how he wasn't afraid to call his team out during spring, he must feel that there's been a lot of improvement between then and now. You don't just start singing the praises of players for no reason after you put them on blast just a few months back.

Richt is smart. if we sucked and he knew it he wouldn't be gassing up expectations before the one season that he will have a low bar (in terms of fan expectations).

I think we are a legitimately talented team (albeit a thin one) and if we can stay healthy we are going to play like we have been hoping for years...fast and aggressive. And that's problems for the ACC. And Richt knows it.

A great leader knows what buttons to push and when to push them. I don't know if Richt is a great leader, but he has determined that the team would benefit from him pumping them up a little right now.

This says it all right here
— A Georgia writer asked Richt to compare the program he inherited to what he took over at UGA: We think we’re going to win every game, but he said he focuses on getting better. “When you do that well, you get the results you want, or you’re right in the heat of the battle.”

does anyone else find it tempting . . . i know we're going to be better, but after these quotes, it seems like we could be special

Barring injuries, we are going to see something we haven't in a long time! I trust CMR's leadership to get us there!

Should've won 11 games last year. This team has had the talent but now its finally getting developed and used the right way.

if AL can win 8 or 9 then richt should win 10 or 11 no problem. there is not an unwinnable game on our schedule.

I agree that he knows what they need to hear. Just wonder if what he says in the daily press conferences and how he coaches the team, particularly in the closed portions of practice, are the same. I doubt many of the players are paying much attention to what he says in his press conferences.

So our back seven....We might be starting three true freshman linebackers, one grad transfer CB, one CB with no starting experience who was a plan C offer who we beat Louisville out for, a safety with a history of injury who lacks physicality and another safety with questionable instincts.

Any offensive coordinator worth a **** will rip holes in that defense, I'm sorry to say. I think we should keep our expectations in check, and hope for a great recruiting class to fill in some of the holes

And that's not to be negative, but it's why we CAN NOT suspend guys like Grace and Muhammad for multiple games. We don't have that luxury.

That's actually a good interpretation. These guys are the same who've given us historically bad losses/defenses, they could probably use a little confidence.

That being said, the next time u make a good point, don't ruin the post by leaving out a ***** related reference.

We have expectations around here, they may be high but you set them yourself.
