Does anything say The Curse of the Orange Bowl like...

Where was the OB mystique from the late '60's through the '70's? Was some kind of bargain made with the devil, maybe a witch's spell placed on the program to win in from '80 to '95? No mystique from '96-'99 either. It's almost like the players and coaching were better during those other times.

What was I saying, it's gotta be a curse.

It's why you don't let the players pick the coach. Jankovich was a genius. He made the right hires after Schnelly and after JJ. The Canes went on to have a magical 10 year run there. It could have been the same in the '00's, but it is what it is.
 
The curse, just saying it, it's suspending rational thought and transferring it to some imaginary entity.

Bad hire after bad hire, that's not a curse, it's just bad hires.

Not believing that someone or something is who they show you to be or other schools said they were, that's just bad comprehension and analysis on your part.

We all want to win, some just believe the next coach up or the next player up will be that guy. You'll ignore warning signs, make excuses, and then try and blame some imaginary entity that was simply the destruction of an inanimate object. Fond memories there for sure, but there is no curse, that's silly talk.

The type of investments we're only now making into the program, are those which should have occurred about midway thru the 2000 season when it was clear Butch was constructing a monster. There is no curse, just horrifically bad decisions by a university with other priorities.
