Do we have any reason to throw the ball?

Walton and Homer should both have huge days against their defense. They have an NFL caliber Qb that can move the pocket and is very accurate on the run and a couple of NFL caliber receivers to chuck it to. I'm not concerned about the defensive performance we had against BC but I am concerned about our physical conditioning with Toledo going on game 4 and us having a scrimmage followed by a long layoff. I keep thinking way back when we faded in the thin air against Detmer with a much more talented team. This could be a similar situation and wouldn't be surprised to see them hit us with a fast tempo offense in the heat to try to achieve the same result.

Still excited to kickoff the season for a second time. It's great to be...

We have a reason to keep balance and to keep the defense guessing, but I am with you. I think we should run the ball down their throats as a priority. That will set up play action and everything else.

I also agree that we should see a lot of the ground game because they are relatively light in their front 7. It should be a big advantage for us and keep their offense off the field by dominating TOP.

I think the conditioning issue is being overblown. If anything our team will be well rested and they have been practicing in training camp conditions for the past week where they have had nothing to do but drink, eat, and sleep football.

At a minimum we need to pass to get Rosier and the receivers reps together in a game.

Part of conditioning is mental and unless the coaches have been riding them they aren't used to pushing through fatigue. That being said, we will be more used to the heat than Toledo, especially given the mild summer in the Midwest.

No, let's not run da ball at all so all da WR recruits can see dat Miami is not a good school for dem. I want to wear out our running backs too cause we thin dare. Also, no reason to let Rosie get some good reps wit his receivers.

I swear, some of u gUySMs!

Yes, we do. Our starting QB is average and needs to get much better today and next week if we are going to beat FSU.

Their conditioning is what should be questioned, pound their a$$es in the heat and humidity, 4th quarter game over!

Rosier is not average . He might not be Ken Dorsey or Gino Toretta but he is a very good. But this is the same fan base who acted like Stephen morris , Brad Kaaya ect sucked so what should I expect

Rosier needs the work as do the young WRs. With that said, I expect Richt to run the ball to help create some cohesion on the OL and enable Rosier to settle back into the offense a bit. If Rosier plays the whole game I still think he only attempts about 18 to 20 passes with many of the early attempts being an extension of the run game (quick throws, bubble screens, etc.).

Balance is always a good practice. It makes your future opponents work during the week leading up to the game.

Offense is their strength but Richt is always very balanced. I suspect he will adjust the types of passes we throw to focus on high % throws, keep the chains moving, etc. I don't think we are nearly as close to being challenged by these guys as some of you think, but you still don't give them the ball a ton and work against yourself.
