From PFF:

DT Gerald Willis: 55 snaps / 78.8 grade
DE Jonathan Garvin: 59 snaps / 76.3 grade
DE Joe Jackson: 59 snaps / 64.1 grade
DT Pat Bethel: 53 snaps / 55.4 grade
DT Jonathan Ford: seven snaps / 62.7 grade

DE Scott Patchan: ten snaps / 59.4 grade
DT Tito Odenigbo: 15 snaps / 56.3 grade
DE Demetrius Jackson: eight snaps / 36.5 grade

It's pretty concerning that Ford/Tito only combined for 22 snaps, when you consider how poorly Bethel played. There was a lot of hype surrounding these two (ahem, @brock ), but both of them shoulda got more snaps if they were capable of contributing.

It's a little strange Demetrius only got 8 snaps. Especially when you consider we like to slide him inside on 3rd down (not sure if that happened vs LSU). Any word of an injury that I missed?

The PFF comments:

Willis graded out as one of the better defensive tackles in the country during week one (the 17th best in the country) and particularly impressed PFF with his pass rushing, earning a 90.6 pass rush grade. Willis was credited with four quarterback pressures, which led the team…Of the players on defense who played a minimum of 10 snaps, Bethel received the worst grade from PFF. The website gave Bethel a 56.2 pass rushing grade…Starting defensive end Jonathan Garvin and Joe Jackson didn’t have the most effective pass rushing performance. The two players combined for four quarterback hurries on 45 pass rushing snaps…Garvin did, however, impress PFF with his run defense, earning a 78.9 run defense grade.

8 tackles, 4 tfl, and a sack grades out to 78?

wtf you gotta do to get in the 90s? 4 interceptions 1 for a td with 6 sacks?

So Rousseau dominates spring and fall camp and gets no snaps. Yet the coaching staff continually says the "the best players will play"

I'm done trying to understand the dumb sh*t this staff does

Unbelievable

Rousseau did play on special teams. No reason he shouldn't have been given a few snaps at DE. Even late, when the game was over. The game counts as one of the four before redshirting (or not). Afraid he'll make a mistake when we're behind 33-3?

If they held him out after the bogus 'leaping the shield' call....nah. Can't be.

We need Joe Jackson to be a lot more productive. He was a complete ghost.
Agreed. I don't remember Joe Jackson making a single play. Maybe his elbow was bothering him but since he was out there, I'm doing to assume it wasn't affecting him. Everyone aside from Willis and Garvin should be ashamed of how they played. I think we have some great pass rushers but I'm no not so sure if we have great run stoppers.

Hmm... I actually had Willis at an 80.1 grade. Let me dust off the old TI-89 and double check the maths...

Wait so losing two quality college players at DT hurt our team?! Shocker. Homers on this site didn’t want to see it well here it is. “Best player ever” and “this coach is great” talk is done and gone let’s be realistic for once

willis better than both.
You take away the run where we had 5 or 6 backups in including 5 on the back 7 then we only gave up 2.5 yards per run which is elite. The dts ain’t play as bad as you all saying but whatever
