Difference between 1999 and 2014

For as much as people have compared every season to 1999, there was something accomplished as that season came to a finish which hasn't happened since 2003.

That 1999 team was pasted by VT in what amounted to be the team's biggest litmus test. It was a horrible effort all around and it felt like a low point.

They rebounded by winning their final 4 games of that season and things took off from there. They trusted that Butch had them going in the right direction.

All this 2014 team did after the FSU game was go in the tank and quit completely. The only players who showed anything were the seniors trying to improve their draft stock.

Golden has lost the locker room. One more season of this and we might never be able to recover.

Please someone do something.

I agree with your second to the last line the most. It is something that Miami fans need to wake up and realize.

This program is 1, maybe 2 seasons away from being completely dead and almost impossible for even a good coach to save. A lot of you don't realize the damage and believe that because we sit on a talented geographic location, we will never be dead. That is the worst assumption you can make.

This can be fixed with hiring the right guy rather quickly. Look at Oklahoma between Switzer and Stoops or Alabama between Stallings and Saban for instance.
