He had 4 safeties on the field multiple times against UNC. It’s a nice wrinkle, especially on 3rd down.

For sure. I don’t think he misplayed it and the comments were more in line with “why would you put him in then”

I end up seeing more of who plays when I am there, but unfortunately couldn’t get there yesterday. From the TV view it seemed like a lot of young guys got burn but would have liked to see more Smith #12 and Thad, but I’m not sure I can identify a spot where I would have used them closely enough to pin point it. Probably on the 3 ugly runs at the goal line….

I agree! Thad needs to get more burn! The rooster is more of a 3rd down back.. Thad would get more that 2 yards on a dive play I think.

He is in shape and looks the part.. but you can tell he is thinking to much instead of reacting ! That will come with more playing time.

I won’t say this.
Kinchens is a good player, a 4 star safety from Miami and he was put in a position to make a 1 on 1 open field tackle. He made the play that good players make. But you have to give credit for coaching that put Kinchens in position to make the play.
Right defense called and good play by the safety. That is precisely the combo that is supposed to happen. Too often we have been missing one or the other.

He was unfortunately the safety on the TD pass to end the half. either Bolden didn’t carry the receiver long enough to give Williams time to get over or Williams missed the play. Or some combo of both. That was a tough spot for Williams but he needs live action.
