The canes, a team who got shut out by Louisiana tech and lost fo fiu to end last season to come out and keep it close and/or beat the #1 team in the nation, a team that is a dynasty with the best qb and rb in the nation along with the best defensive coordinator/scheme?

i wanted to see us win as much as anyone. But seeing “fire manny” and “rhett is overrated” posts is disheartening.

Even the legend Ed Reed posted “we growing...to be continued” on his Instagram this morning.

we as fans need to be more realistic and supportive instead of being toxic and hateful. No great team was built overnight.

Best case, and actually realistic IMO is face them again in the ACCCG.

you can't take much serious from the "higher level" posters on this forum, i'm serious about that.

the only one you should take serious is dsdcane all the rest make comical mistakes
 
We thought our LBs and WRs were a weak spot on this team. This proved it. Also the O-Line was a sieve (shouldn’t be a surprise). When you play a team that is stacked with talent at every position, your weaknesses are exposed and they are going to exploit it every chance they get, just as we would if we were in that position.

IMO, how we play against “inferior” opponents is equally telling to our progress thus far.

Good post. Realistic fans knew we were outgunned on the road. Losing that game is understandable but I think a lot of the anger is based on how we lost it and how we looked out there.

the lack of discipline from a penalty standpoint was Florida State like. All the false starts and pre snap penalties tell me there were too many guys on that field that the moment was too big for.

our complete inability to function on offense is troubling. We may have the worst WR group in power 5. Some of the play calls were questionable but I can live with all of them. That said some of the personnel decisions had me shaking my head. Biggest play of the game, 4th and half a yard and we use our scat back while Chaney and Cam watch? Makes no sense. All of that pressure last night and no screen passes that I recall....we looked unprepared.

if we lost by the same score but had a couple more stops and a little bit of offense people would be less reactionary.
 
We. Got. The. ****. Kicked. Out. Of. Us.

I wasn't competitive. It was embarrasing. Say what you will about all of our mistakes and lack of talent--but the worst of all is that we looked soft and scared. Aside from a couple guys, it seemed like we didn't want to win the game. Manny is soft and our players are taking to it.

Do you think the coaching staff told the team, "Well, we're probably going to lose 100-0, so let's just try to get through this unhurt."
 
I didn’t expect a win but I expected to look like we weren’t another 4 years away from losing by only 14 points to Clemson. Our coaches will never be ready against this level of program.

Dabo Swinney is such an arrogant mfkr he comes off like he is laughing in his head at the thought of a Manny Diaz coached team ever beating him during post and pre game interviews.
 
Bruh. Football is a game to compete. I expect to compete. Win our lose go out there and compete.

We did not go out there and compete. I don’t want to hear about 21-10 halftime score moral victories. Football games last 4 quarters.

We never competed. We got boat raced. Competitors don’t fail to get first downs. Competitors score. Competitors don’t give up 42 points and 500 yards of offense.

They compete.

At the end of the day you line up across from the next man and snap the ball. These aren’t the Monstars they are other human beings in similar weight classes!

Compete!

That’s all I wanted.

This game is over though. We did NOT compete. Fucc it tho. Let’s win out.

If is such a big word but you’re right all is not lost. Barring a key injury King), we should have a fighting chance against everyone left on the schedule
 
There’s a gap, but Miami is well on it’s way towards Clemson. There’s been some recruiting misses over the last couple years that would have helped this game.

with that being said, I think the WR group is more deficient than the OL. Theres no possible way you can bring more guys than there is blockers and not expect that to happen. They took the zone read completely out by loading up towards the back. They didn’t feel threatened by our WRs at all.

I’m not a bash a player type guy but I always see this and from the board and from analysts, Mallory is very very over hyped. Is he very talented? Yes. Can he potentially be a NFL TE? Yes. But he’s very soft in a lot of ways showing from his freshman year til now. Everyone always saying he’s a future NFL TE, I don’t see that even before this game just do to toughness/physicality in my opinion.

I’m pretty disappointed how offensively we couldn’t get anything going AGAIN against them

Our game plan was obviously awful and should be burned and never used again

Yes. The lack of discipline was troubling. We had a real shot to seize momentum early but Roche lined up 2 inches offsides. When that happened, I knew we were in trouble. The only way to beat a team like Clemson is so seize every opportunity. We had them stopped and gave them another chance and they scored a TD right after. You just can’t do that.

and as for the offense that outside of kings rushing was nonexistent, comes down to the o line not being able to do anything and the receivers. I want to see more of the young guys!
 
I at least hoped it would he a competitive football game. Our team is undisciplined & just participated in a track meet. Opportunities were to be had last night but just went into the fetal position and got molested. Manny cannot get his team ready to play after a bye & that is pathetic.
