Speaking of the Hurricanes, they are working hard to keep Winter Garden (Florida) West Orange running back Dexter Williams in the fold as Louisville makes a big push for the Miami recruit.

Williams committed to the 'Canes in April, but that hasn't stopped several schools from pursuing the talented tailback with 4.55 (Nike Combine verified electronic timed), 40-yard-dash speed.

Louisville received an official visit for Williams and the trip went as expected, West Orange assistant coach Joe Light said.

"He liked Louisville a lot and he had plenty of good things to say about the trip," Light said.

Should Miami fans be on edge about his verbal commitment status? "He is still a solid UM commit," Light said. "Very firm on it."

The 4-star prospect is a fan of head coach Al Golden, and that is a big factor with his recruitment. There has been hot-seat talk about Golden's job security, but Miami athletic director Blake James reiterated yesterday Golden's job is safe (subscription required).

"Golden came to his house last week. He loves Golden and his staff," Light said. "As long as he stays, Dex stays." It looks like Williams isn't going anywhere, but I don't expect Louisville to let up with their pursuit of the speedy back.

His teammate Jalen Julius is high on the Cardinals, and they both took their official visits to the Bluegrass State together.

Also keep an eye on Florida, who could look to get him on campus in the coming weeks.
