Miami fell short to No. 2 seed Purdue Boilermakers in the second round of the NCAA Tournament, to a final score of 79-69.

Three Miami Hurricanes scored in double figures, with freshman Shelton Henderson leading the way with 18 points, followed by senior forward Malik Reneau with 16 and Tre Donaldson with 13.

Despite the heartbreaking loss, this season showed what’s to come for the Miami Hurricanes and Jai Lucas’ basketball squad.

88 and 11 need to find new homes. Otherwise everyone else should return and then hit the portal hard.
 
That was a tough out. Purdue plays well to their strengths. But the canes played well enough to win, but the tourney is about capitalizing on momentum. Unfortunately, for our boys, they lost their offensive groove, and Purdue had the staple set plays that put the game out of reach late. The future is bright though. Go Canes.
 
Despite Jai cobbling together a good year, we still need to really flip over this roster. Keep Shelton, develop Allen and Gaskins. Then give Jai some money to buy some real talent, preferably multi year guys.
