Despite the huge win…What are your areas of concern?

I’m concerned we didn’t have:
1. Every WR/TE in the 2 deep with at least 100 yards.
2. Every RB with avg 10 ypc
3. 0 tackles missed
4. Every DB in the 2 deep with an int
5. Confusion/misalignments be damned, save those timeouts for the end of the half/game just in case. Eat penalties and big plays instead.

Both tackles had chip help and still setup to far outside and got beat inside with ease..

Our coaches clearly don't think we're there yet, because we threw the football 10 times in 6 possessions in the second half.

Yea, the way they turtled up, felt like that at game and on rewatch.. We felt like we shut down entire operation going into 4th like yea we seen enough, when the contrast ON ROAD @UF up multiple scores and emptying out stadium we still had Cam in game DEALING.. Its glaring when comparing those situations.

Run blocking wise Francis & Coop A1, bell and mccoy run blocking? Mid. Pass blocking coop is just ok, sisi has some inconsistencies in pass protection too

Just nitpicky, Defense seemed very basic.. We seemed to let their qb sit back and get comfortable we never seemed to mix up blitzes and give them something to think about..

This will probably be like motion/no motion debate from mid '10s especially with richt basic offense, where people defended when the game was evolving. Defense has evolved. We look to be going elementary, just keep it basic and hope bain does everything on pass rush/pressure. Should work majority of times but we need playoff level against elite teams''

You can do **** like that when you have 5 or 6 future first rounders on defense.

To be fair, this is literally what Heatherman said he was going to do. Just let the kids play and play fast.

I hate when people do this, but if you take away the total bust to the TE, ND ran 57 plays for 249 yards. Again, you can't do this, because you're not allowed to just ignore bad plays, but nobody even looked at the kid. You clean that up and they average 4.36 yards per play. That's FSU in 2024 levels of bad.

So, it worked? Again, I just think the staff and team was doing anything it could to win this game. We get our high school game this week. Then we get a G5 team, at home. I'm hoping some of this stuff is just "first game" **** and by the time the gator comes to town, and even more after the bye when we head to Tallahassee, the team looks markedly different. We did what we needed to do to beat a Top 6 team...even if it was bumpy at times.

Run scheme. The fact that we didn’t put NDs CBs in a position to tackle Fletcher or Marty was a disappointment. There was 1 play Moore tried to tackle Fletcher and got wrecked. They need to include outside runs. Blocking at TE, and just overall lack of speed at WR.

LB depth. Play was serviceable with the starters but when they went out the drop off was noticeable.

WR seperation. ND was holding a lot but more explosive WRs break through it

I’m stoked we won but I’ll be dammed if we didn’t try to find a way to lose another game we had no business losing.
