WOW. Would be such a huge pickup. From a trusted recruiting analyst, told me he is the best bball prospect miami has gotten since Durand Scott. This is huge.

"I actually committed yesterday," said Griffin, who was an Army All-American game participant. "I signed today."

Griffin said he first spoke with Hurricane coaches "about a week ago."

"They talked to me, asked if I would be interested," Griffin said.

Very difficult to play two sports, glad to have him but I think him and Corn will be on the football field more.

ESPN 150 tight end Derrick Griffin has signed his letter of intent, but not with the school to which he was long committed, Texas A&M.

The Rosenberg (Texas) Terry product is heading east and will join Miami.

The 6-foot-6, 228-pound four-star prospect, who is the No. 33 player in the ESPN 150, sent in his letter of intent to Miami on Tuesday, the school announced.

Another nice find by AG and staff. Accepting a second top 300 kid who can help the basketball team as well is a win with me.

Probably, but I'm all for these guys giving basketball a shot, too. There is no downside to it, since they count as walk-ons for hoops. Griffin looks like a fantastic athlete that can help us in both sports -- welcome to the U!
