Dennis Erickson endorses Mario Cristobal for the Miami job

"He's a tremendous competitor and outstanding young man," Erickson told 247Sports. "He would be a great fit for Miami because of his background and his ties in south Florida.

He's a proven coach and a proven head football coach," Erickson said. "He's not just a former Miami player. He has a great love for the program and he's also a proven head coach with great south Florida ties. Look at what he's done at Alabama and he turned around the program at FIU." - Erickson.

My question... Is Erickson still hitting the bottle?

No. If we are really trying to become elite, you don't take a chance on a guy who was FIRED from FIU with no other HC experience

"Proven Head Coach"

Apparently glaucoma have settled in from all that whiskey Dennis have thrown down over the years

"Look what he did at Alabama"

??????????????

Regress horribly from being the best line in the nation while still having the best recruits in the nation?

Why would he not, he's the only mentioned Candidate Dennis has a relationship with. Cristobal will end up at Rutgers.

Had no idea that Dennis was still alive.

exactly, people that have been away from the program for a while all of the sudden throwing their 2 cents in? he can stay away n go lobby for Mario somewhere else. Only coach who's opinion I care for n hope Blake listens to is JJ

No thanks, Dennis. We appreciate your input and marketing one of your ex-players, but no way....

We can do far, far better - and hopefully we will....

More inappropriateness from Cristobal. Stop recruiting liquored up ex-coaches to do your dirty work because your resume doesn't speak for itself. Get the fvck out of my face with this political maneuvering.

p.s., I'm involved in physician recruitment and his endorsement reads as a letter of rec that really means, "I was asked to do this, I will use fairly benign language, and not wholeheartedly endorse him without reservations so the powers that be can read between the lines."

Is this the same erickson that put us on probation the first time? he knew how to manage the program but remember the talent evaluations by this guy.

the channel 10 abc local guys where also lobbying for him .

I love how people that have stopped closely following the program all of a sudden think "a guy with miami ties" is the way to go when our 4 best coaches have had no miami ties and the 2 times we got a miami guy , they've been horrible .
