Not only is the scheme and philosophy bad, but these kids don't know the fundamentals of defense like: taking proper angles and proper tackling techniques. They are coached bad point black period!
Watching Clemson yesterday, they talked about how Brent Venerables had to come in and teach them the basic fundamentals of film study, tackling, etc. Our next staff will have their hands full with the defense and will have the same task or reprogramming.
At this point it's more than the staff. Some of these kids have been ruined defensively and will need to be completely reprogrammed.
Ex. Two men hitting the pitch man on that option to Dalvin Cook. SMH!
All this is the coaches fault, but don't be surprised even with a new staff it take a year or two for the defense to be top ranked.
