decommitments

So we have a very good class with over 20 kids, and a few decommit 6 months before signing day, and its the end of the world?!? SMH.

have you seen what's happen to the last two recruiting classes heading to NSD? the worst has yet to come

A lot of yall are over hyping camp too much

It's not about that. He's better by a large margin, when compared to the realistic alternative options.

True but many here are calling this kid a stud and hes good but he aint no TV

Just wait till you see who this joke of a staff ends up with at DT for this cycle...

Then we will see if losing Camp was no big deal.

SMH

Probably someone who would do the same stuff camp would do here since they are such a joke and cant develope kids

Funny thing about Camp is that he de-committed to commit to Bama but they gave him a non commit scholly.so he couldnt. so he could possibly end up back n the class if we are recruiting him hard which i have no clue. Camp is good and for a pos we cant recruit it was a loss for us.

I think its a nation wide epidemic that will eventually be lessened by early signing period and new fresh/soph recruiting rules. Its more prevelant because Miami is still a very known Brand. Some do it for attention, some do it because they legit wanna come here then for whatever reason chancge there mind. (Coaches/ players in there ear, $$$, Canes lack of winning) others change mind when they realize they may not get the PT they want or studs already at the position ala Lawson/Kayaa/Cap Jack situation.

I've thought about the early singing day period, especially since they are voting on a 3 day early period soon, and I don't think it will be as effective as most think. Kids aren't dumb. I don't think many kids will sign early unless they are in the Scott Patchan and Jack Allison category of shutting down the process. The handlers and advisors will always be around the kids telling them to hold off. If anything, I see a lot less early commitments because kids who commit verbally will be pushed to sign and if they don't some schools will drop them in fear of getting dropped. I actually see one huge unintended consequence and that is that kids will use it as leverage. Kids who are getting paid, and it does happen, will tell schools to pony up or they will sign somewhere else. I honestly would not be surprised by that at all. Risky? Sure. But not something I would be shocked by.

Minus burnnette these de-commits dont matter

^This! Negative fans have made a big deal about all of these decommitments over the last few years when a LARGE number of these kids should never have been offered in the first place.

So that would fall on a staff irresponsibly offering and/or having extremely poor evaluation capabilities, correct?

Y'all dudes just don't stop, huh?

You got a point. I heard that The Franchise offered Gil and a bunch of plan D caliber players in spring/summer and Ghost of Venice has secretly been calling the defense. My mistake!

just heard some commissioner on Finebaum Show that 92% of kids that verbal between summer and signing period stick with their commitment. Great job Al
