At the risk of beating another one...

Our ST ineptitude is ESPECIALLY maddening considering that Richt HAD to know that we couldn’t win games by outscoring people with Malik.

We could have easily gotten to Charlotte simply by dominating field position with defense and special teams.

For our ST to be this bad (under these circumstances) is maybe the MOST damning indictment of Richt.

Great teams always have great special teams (Saban, Belichick). It's an excellent metric for coaching quality because in a typical game less than 5 mins is spent on ST, and yet it can have a outsize impact on a game. It's easy for bad coaches to overlook this and not give it the attention it deserves.

We could of also make the ACC championship game with good offense and defense with bad ST but Richt continues to play Malware at QB.

Agreed, but it is ESPECIALLY egregious when you have a great defense and mediocre (or worse) offense. If Richt would have prioritized ST - even with his garbage O - we very well could be undefeated today, winning games with field position and special teams play.

Instead - our ST is even worse than our offense (how that is even possible is another question/indictment).

Even if a miracle of miracles happened and Miami made it to the ACCCG ....... then what ?

The things that make good special teams - sound, disciplined, tough, efficient, explosive, intense, and physical - are not very descriptive of Richt. Even if he were to give more attention to it, I wouldn't expect much improvement.

Our ST is almost statistically last in a few categories for FBS teams, an impressive feat I think.
