We keep talking about experienced people having the job and how we need to stop hiring guys just cause the wore the U. It’s been too long. Dabo never went to Clemson.
Saban played for Kent state.
The fascination that we need a um guy in administrative or coaching positions needs to stop cause at its core it’s a form of nepotism. And we need to stop hiring first timer anything anymore.
Where the fck did UCf all of the sudden become a school mentioned almost every week and actually having a pretty **** good football team.
Well it helps if most your immediate family members are employed as athletic directors at other schools.

I’ve said this in pretty much every other thread!! First there has to be an opening...then we’ll see if he’s holding out for AD at a blue blood program.

Edit: this would be the jolt this program needs, not just football, but all around Hecht. Dude brought Bobby Hurley to Buffalo, Dawkins to UCF (having a dad as AD of Duke sure helps!), Frost and then Heupel!! It’s not like P5 jobs open up every day so IF we have an opening I wonder how interested he would really be.

Turning the U around is a **** resume changer and lifetime notch on your belt. He has the know how when it comes to money. He’s tapped into every resource possible at the schools he’s been to.
Stop trying to hire guys at schools with deep pockets at programs scratching the playoffs. Those guys ain’t leaving Wisconsin or Oklahoma.
This guy was basically raised to be an athletic director. While most people accidentally get the position by being at the right place at the right time and knowing the right people, this guy is actually as qualified as you can get with proven results at a school no one gave 2 tinker bell bubble gum powder shts about. He doesn’t even have to leave he **** state.

They’re the **** Bush family of collegiate athletics. You guys want a plug, someone who’s connected and knows how the ncaa maneuvers. Want to know how X school was able to get what and how they did it? Want to know how and what to avoid?
This is the guy end of story.

I have no real opinion here. I don't know what we're looking for or who can do the job. What I do know is that when these guys are deciding if they want to take a job at Miami they're going to ask what type of support they'll get. So my question is, will anyone worth a **** like the answer they get enough to take the job?

My guess is no. And so, just like with coaches, we'll be relegated to second teir or lower talent.

His brother is the AD at FAU doing a good job too. Would def be an upgrade over blake james
His father,Kevin White, is the Director of Athletics at Duke. His brother Mike is the head coach of the UF Mens Basketball team while his other brother Brian is athletic director for the FAU and his sister Mariah Chappell is assistant athletic director for the SMU

This family understands the term AD.

Also, UCF has an ongoing campaign called IGNITE started end of 2016. The Campaign for UCF has raised $531 million for student success, faculty endowments and athletic excellence. UCF seems to care more about sports too.

Heck, the FAU AD would be an upgrade over Blake!

In all seriousness, the day UM moves on from needing to hire someone with ties to the past will be the day UM will move forward. Bring in a qualified AD who’s in the job today. Someone who has shown he/she can make great hires and holds staff accountable.

Is he interested in the UM job?

I don’t know him, I don’t pretend to know him but I don’t know any serious AD who would take a job under the same conditions as our current puppet.

It wouldn’t be hard to afford him and/or someone of his caliber/qualifications. Hiring someone like that would pay for themselves as a result of performance (e.g. increased future athletic revenues).

But at UM we prefer waste, incompetence and nepotism.
