Daniel Cuvet Out Indefinitely With Back Injury, Arteaga Announces

Miami head coach JD Arteaga announced on Wednesday afternoon that Miami Hurricanes third baseman Daniel Cuvet will be out indefinitely after suffering a stress fracture in his back.

Arteaga talked on his injury:

“He will be out for some time, no timetable on it. He’s been dealing with it all season. It just kind of flared up. We thought it was muscular... he was getting treated for that... and apparently, it’s not,” Arteaga said.

Geesh. Had two of these over a 6 year span in my playing days.

I’ve never been one to beat up on the medical staff. But on its face, this is unacceptable given the symptoms and where both of mine occurred (lower back).

Unacceptable it’s been going on ”all season” and they finally took a deeper look. Unacceptable.
