Dabo receives contract extension to 2031

Brotha, I’m 40 & I look 20. I’m still getting hyphy in the club while mastering every **** TikTok dance. Lol.
So wait, if you are 40 and look 20. Does that mean I am really 29? Do I add some age if I cannot do the TikTok dance but never had rhythm to begin with (I was never mistaken for Turbo)? I would have to believe the wife and two kids adds some age... I have a glorious salad with a little dust up top and in shape. Senator, I was told there would be no math but maybe you can give me a number I can work with.

This may be an unpopular take on this, but I have data to suggest this is a good move for Clemson.

Can we all agree that the majority of us on here over the age of 35 know Clemson wasn’t chit since Danny Ford? They’ve been a layup W for **** near 30 yrs before Dabo. Dabo brought Clemson to such prominence that hadn’t been seen since the early 80’s.

Sports in the collegiate atmosphere is the life line to a lot of financial benefits to Universities, especially from the sport of CFB. Lord knows Clemson haven’t seen this revenue come through in their entire existence. Elite Coaches in CFB r going to receive big $$ b/c the amount of revenue they bring in to the entire infrastructure justifies it.

And b4 we start talking about the kids, prior to Dabo, from 1980 - 2008, Clemson had a total of 15 1st round draft picks. Since Dabo took over in 2009, Clemson have had 15 1st-round picks. From
1980-2008, Clemson had 41 top 3-round picks, since Dabo 33 top 3-round picks. In other words, Dabo have accomplished more in getting his kids paid in the past 13 yrs than The School, as a whole in the past 29 yrs.
Dabo is a slimy piece of worm-ridden filth(in my Han Solo voice)but he has built a machine(albeit by cheating) in Clemson. Honestly the only thing I remembered Clemson for prior to that was when Woody Hayes punched one of their players after an interception that ended the game.

I’m not sure he will prove to be worth that in the coming years. Based on past results? Absolutely. But look at last year, even with all that talent, without a top 5 pick at QB they barely managed 10 wins.

They did land Cade Klubnik, we’ll see how that goes maybe sooner rather than later. Even bigger of a concern, however, is the hiring he did this past offseason. Basically got lazy and promoted most of them from within, and I’m a firm believer that he will come to regret that.

It also doesn’t help that the man is resisting all the inevitable changes coming to CFB, namely ones that financially benefit players. If he chooses to hold firm on that, it 100% will bite him in the ***

Regret what?!

In today's CFB landscape, when you find YOUR coach, you have to propose! There's only a handful of coaches worth a ten year commitment. Dabo is one of them
How can you know that now? This is his first year without excellent coordinators AND without a generational QB.

Was he close to the end of his contract? Agents aren’t stupid so their job is to get their clients a new contract before they are exposed (see Charlie Weiss).

Ok, so who hired those excellent coordinators and recruited those generational QBs?

Dabo has built a system at Clemson. In regards to coaching, they hire from within. Meaning, he develops his GAs into position coaches, and develops those position coaches into coordinators. Their success is a direct result of his system.

In regards to those generation QBs, I'm assuming your referring to Trevor Lawrence and DeShaun Watson, Dabo had to beat out every other college in the nation for those kids. He had to dip into Georgia and steal those kids, amongst other highly touted recruits he's signed. Personally, I think Etienne was the biggest steal out of Louisiana.

Give credit where it's due. I don't like Clemson, but I can put my emotions aside and respect the progress that program has made.

I’m not saying Clemson hasn’t been built up by Dabo.

All I’m saying is the landscape has changed and that we don’t know how Clemson will do without those key pieces and how Miami getting a resource boost will affect them (NIL is a wildcard as well).

The agent did a good job of securing the extension before the season is completed.

They have the talent they will be fine, when the talent leaks then u can see problems in the future. As long as they recruit the way they have been they will win no matter what. Simple

They will win 10 games this year. Just like they did in 2011, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2015, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020 and 2021.

They have and will continue to recruit at a top tier level. Their roster is deep and talented and they have a proven blueprint. I don't like them but I respect them.

Most importantly playing in the Mickey Mouse ACC guarantees they will continue to win 10 games minimum a year.

I get what you're saying. To me, you can only really try to predict the future by looking at previous results. This is why I think Mario will be successful here.... cause he's achieved positive results is a similar situation.

Recently, in this NIL era, Dabo was able to pluck a top QB out of Texas. DJ U was also a highly recruited QB out of Cali. I'll give Dabo this, he gets HIS guy! Whether it's Chad Morris or Tony Elliot calling the plays, Dabo has managed to secure a Top QB regardless. And, that's just QBs. How they got Justyn Ross out of Alabama, away from Auburn and Bama... we'll never know.

I guess I have a hard time believing the NIL, which will now allowing Clemson to throw bags around legally, is going to change much at Clemson.

His agent did his job! If Brian Kelly is getting 10M a year, and Dabo isn't (with 2 nattys), then something is wrong! Today, a proven, successful P5 HC, at a big time program, makes around 8-10M. That's just the market
