The old Orange Bowl was such an historic place - the home field of champions where the Dolphins and Canes won championships. The OB was a tough place to play for everyone else.

The best (undefeated) Dolphin and Cane's teams played there, arguably two of the best of their sports. I saw Joe Namath play there when he had the Fu Manchu (he came up to a group of us kids on the rail to ask us how we enjoyed the game) and watched Dan Marino break 5 NFL Passing records there on the last Monday Night game of the season against the Cowboys in the mid-80s.

The OB had baseball, all sorts of rallies, including a Bay of Pigs survivors rally there in the mid 70s. It was beloved by the community.

When Miami played its last game there, Virginia waxed us. It was embarrassing. Not much good has happened in the new stadium for a lot of years now. There's just not the same attachment to Hard Rock.
