Current UM Players Reaction

They want reed to be retained. Reed even tweeted out “what now” as in, he wants to get job in new staff. Tbh it’s kinda annoying because when you have someone like that they are unfireable. Also if Mario doesnt keep him seems some will be mad at him.
If he helps out, keep him. If Mario doesn't think he adds value, let him go. Business is business.

The players like Manny the same way high school kids like their substitute teacher.

I had a sub named Miss Finklebaum.
Sweetest lady. She used to bring those Winn Dixie "Big 60" cookies for the entire class.
Everybody loved her, but nobody RESPECTED her.

Nobody would directly disrespect her, but they knew it was cookies and playtime when she walked in the classroom.

And another thing...

When you hire an established/proven/well-known Head Coach, the players are much more welcoming to the change. Most of the kids already know Mario because they were recruited by him in some capacity. They already know what he's about. He probably knows some of them personally.

It's much freakin' different than hiring a fvckin' guy that has never been a Head Coach, who the kids aren't familiar with, from a program that they don't respect.
Manny and Golden taking the Miami job was like me going from Cooper City HS to Carol City HS.
Kids are like "who the fook is this guy?"
"He came from Cooper City. Oh **** nah!"

If I walk through the door, coming from a well respected/winning program, I already hold some clout in the kid's minds. Instant respect is given off that alone. (as opposed to showing up from Temple)
And they remember that he was at Bama too.

I anticipate these kids jumping in line wit his vision sooner than later.
