Cristolbal. Gattis, Steele Weekly Pressers

This is what worries me more than anything. If things improve just enough so that the excuse makers prevail, AND we improve the talent, we'll never get rid of his offensive mindset. Earlier someone mentioned that he could see the possibility that Gattis "can work out here." To me, "work out" sounds far down the ladder from optimized and thriving at the cutting edge of offense.

This this this this. Even if Gattis improves, he's NEVER going to field an explosive modern offense like you see at tenn, usc etc.

Gattis is running CMC's offense. CMC needs to take a long look at some game film UT VS Bama, USC vs Utah
TCU vs Oak St..... hopefully he can listen and adapt as we look like a 6 win team and our talent says 8 +

I didn’t know Mario was an OC who called plays and had a playbook. Good to know.

People can give Gattis s*** and he deserves criticism for a lot but I've seen enough stubborn coordinators to know it wasn't a given that he would change.

I'm sure I'm in the minority but I do think there's a possibility he can work out here.
The incentive to change is huge............ as his performance as OC is indicative of the type of HC positivity......... for the resume moving forward.....
Needless to say,....... it is worth more for his best interest to not only add Dubs to the resume,.......... but it helps his pocket too....$$$$$$.

He doesn’t need to at all, and it’s the least of our worries, but why lie? Putting it all on the players executing? Just a weird approach. They know he’s full of ****, we know he’s full of ****. What’s the point

You have to understand, coaches are obligated to talk to the media, and they'd rather drag their balls through an ocean of broken glass. There is nothing in the entire job a coach wants to do less than sit down and talk to Susan Miller Degnan about the nuances of their offense. Nothing. He wants to get through it as quickly as possible.

So, for the 17 millionth time, I will implore those of you with half a brain to stop wasting your time listening to these. I haven't listened to a coach interview in probably 10 years. Aside from injury news, of which there is VERY little they disclose, it's a complete waste of time. Watch the product on the field, that's all that matters. He is telling you nothing changed, and he comes out in 5 wide on the first play with dudes bunched. He is telling you nothing changed, yet in the last 3 games, we have run 84 plays per game, which is good for 2nd in the country.

Gattis is running exactly what CMC wants him to run.... for some unknown reason it took 4 games for CMC, Gattis as well as Ponce to sit down with TVD and ask him what plays are you comfortable running ? for some reason they continued to try and put a sq. peg into a round whole......

I can picture Gattis jumping for a G5 HC job at season's end. I just worry about who the replacement will be.

You are right in a way because Mario brought Gattis in because Gattis offense is what Mario wants..... problem for Gattis is that his way is not working. So the blame falls on him.

50-50 blame, If i never see a bunched WR set again it will be to soon. CMC is very conservative by nature but he need to rethink his offensive philosophy.......tempo, speed and these days you almost have pass to set up run......more plays the better. Seems like they know what TVD can do best and are executing in that direction, hopefully run game will bounce back this week against Duke.
