Coaching COY Finalists

Cristobal deserves to be paid like a Top 5 guy.

+ Knows his identity at Miami
+ Knows how to get coaches to buy in and commit…albeit for a short time since he grinds them to dust.
+ Philosophy on player acquisition has proven to be right long term.

Pay this man his $.

I agree. But I dont think money is the man's motivation. In fact, I believe in my heart its not in the top 5 of priorities for that man.

Now his agent on the other hand. Its his number one priority.

He will get his contractually obligated bonuses that I cant wait to celebrate and he will get a raise. He is worth every penny and will continue to be so. I want to see the coffers do the same for our staff for retention and attracting the best when we need to.

But its not gonna interrupt or distract us from getting away from the standard which is now set. We got the right guy

If Cignetti wins it all, it's the greatest coaching job in the modern era, if not all time. There's an argument to be made that it already is
“If he wins…”

A couple things worth noting…

IU records the 3 seasons prior to Cignetti getting there are 3-9, 4-8 and 2-10.

They were the second worst (Wake Forest) P4 CFB team of all time from a winning percentage standpoint.

In two years this is where he has them… with no 5 stars on the team? He doesn’t have to win the championship or beat Oregon to prove he’s done the best job of “coaching” this year.

14-0… beat Oregon, Ohio St and Alabama in the same season with that roster? No brainer.

Money is how you show employees respect.

Cristobal is the best football coach Miami has had since Butch Davis.

Let’s not make the same mistake again.

Pay this dude what he’s earned.

Where would you put him?

Is he now in the $11M range?

I think Lincoln Riley is at $10M a year… that’s as ****** of a ROI I’ve seen.

Ok good.. You made the argument I said existed.

They’re talking a lot about pro teams coming for him….wonder if that’s what he wants. Not sure it would have to be money cause I’m sure IU is gonna give him 8-10 million a yr.
It’d have to just be an ego thing like Saban and others who’ve jumped and did nothing then came back to CFB and did well.
