Hope the zebras let us "scramble"... Cornell is 7-1 and average 82.6 points per game... GO CANES!

The Miami Hurricanes are 8-1 and on the cusp of the AP Top 25, so voters will be watching to see how they do in back-to-back home games against Cornell on Wednesday and North Carolina State on Saturday. Neither game will be easy. Cornell poses serious challenges. The Big Red is 7-1 and ranked in the top five nationally in several categories, including second in three-pointers attempted with 31.6 per game and third in three-pointers made (11.9), second in fast break points with 23.4, and third in assists per game with 20. The team averages 82.6 points per game, which ranks 25th

I expect this to be close early, Cornell can certainly shoot and will want to run. Need Pack to be fearless and Norchad to dominate inside, should pull away 2H.

They're a good Ivy League team that shoots a high volume:

- 49% in Field Goals
- 37% from 3
- 3rd in the Nation in 3pt attempts
- 3rd in the Nation in 3pt makes
- 3rd in the Nation in Assists (20 per game)
- Top 30 in steals (9.8 per game)

They're biggest weaknesses is they turn the Ball over at a high rate, they're pretty marginal from the Free Throw line at 67% & they're not that good of a Rebounding team.

Their best player Greg Dolan is a really good shooter, he's 55% from the floor & 56% from 3.

We already have a blueprint on how to slow down a shooter of his caliber from the Rutgers game when we shut down Cam Spencer. I would expect for Ben Joseph & Wooga to put pressure on him with on-ball perimeter Defense & get active with their hands when he's shooting.

The key to this game will mainly be about our perimeter Defense & closing out 3's. If we Rebound & don't let them get too many wide open 3's we should win.

Omier & Miller should have good games in the Post against Sean Hansen & Guy Ragland, they're a fairly small team, so we should definitely dominate on the Boards.

56% from 3? Jesus that's ridiculous

Yeah, he's 17-30 on the season making just a little over half of his 3pt shots.

He's deadly from the arc, which means we need to be up in his chest the moment the ball crosses half court. Get a hand up in his face, deny him the ball, undercut every screen they give him & try to frustrate him as much as possible...

Then just hope he misses lol.

Go Canes! Looking forward to watching tonight. I know nothing about Cornell but if I were a betting man I'd take Canes to win and Cornell to cover the 16.

If you knew nothing about Cornell and if you were a betting man why then would you take the points…right🤔
If you are honest with yourself and this board you have heard something about them and that is why you would take the points.
I still don’t think we know how good
Miami is meaning we are very good possibly and at home I see no reason but to give the points. But since we are both not betting men I willl be happy with a 1pt win as you probably will. GO CANES !

That is why I'm not as nervous about this one. Not that they couldn't get hot and well...but should be a 3 vs 2 game. I expect a very high field goal percentage from us tonight, as long as we just pound the ball inside and don't settle and get caught up in a 3 pt shooting contest.

Well, first of all, you’re way over analyzing my post. It’s just a dumb way of saying I see a Miami win by less than 16 points. Going by the very little bit of research I’ve done today on Cornell they at least seem to be a decent functioning team. Miami is very good. Still not laying 16 points to many teams, besides Louisville of course

Gotta run them off the 3 pt line. They like the fastbreak which plays to our athleticism and style of play, force them to drive and let Chad do his thing and run off the block/rebound.

kenporn has Miami at 34 Cornell at 184. Miami is ACC Cornell is Ivy league. Miami has a 92 percent chance to cover the spread. No excuses we bang ✊🙌
