Is he Al Golden's nephew who was enrolled at UM? He had his foot blown off when he stepped on some sort of fire ******* while climbing over a rock at Central Park in NYC. Article from the NY Post said he was a student at UM who was visiting NY over the 4th.

I don't know if Al had any other relatives that attended UM but his nephew on the FB team is Greg Golden

In looking at the team roster on hurricanesports.com, Greg Golden is no longer listed.

News reports (including photos) show a young man (spelled Connor) with what appears to be a lower left extremity injury resulting in total amputation at/below ankle.

Reports he "just stepped on something"...

1) either he and his friends were ******** around and he was injured, or

2) something mre sinister at play...you dont just step on fireworks and they explode in that manner...just doesnt work that way without an ignition source either activated remotely or by the intended (unintended) blast victim...

regardless, the young man's life os forever now changed and he is in a club no one wants to be in...

tragic...just tragic...

Reports now FBI has taken over investigation.

As suspected, it appears to be a pressure plate device (per NYPD BS)...and device was in place for at least a day or more...

wtf is wrong with people. beyond tragic.

technically we would define an IED as an explosive device (components could/could not be military) deployed in an unconventional manner to achieve military/non-military aims...

Relax everyone, an "explosive hobbyist" left it there on accident. Nothing to see here.
