Cole McConathy II

Pretty sure Dmoney had a snippet that he was adjusting to the new postion with a line to the effect of he’s not Jason witten day one but he’s blocking and making some catches

I think it’s a good move for him… agreed he showed a quick first step and I gotta believe he’s gonna be a stingy blocker
 
I don't think the TE room is very good. I'd expect to see a sixth OL throw on a #81 jersey or something and line up to block. We know Mario wants a TE that can block. Besides, we know the OL depth is real solid and guys want to play.

Elija Lofton - very small and we hear/read about him more than we see him
Luka Gilbert - out for season
Gavin Mueller - true freshman/high upside - but how ready is he?
Izzy Briggs - true freshman and relatively small/more of a big receiver
Cole McConathy - new position
Jackson Carver - no experience and rarely healthy
Owen Ruskavich - basically glorified walk on
Jack Nickel - his brother is a QB. that's all I got

The staff thinks the tight end room is not a weaknesses.

Fortunately, in about 13 days we can get at least an initial indication of reality.

A lot of names, but I'm not confident any of them are that guy. The two FR likely have the most potential.

This is the one spot I think it would make sense to bring in someone if he's a stud. Then the year after, Mueller and/or Briggs are hopefully ready.

They've raved about the room's athleticism. They've dropped hints about other rooms. For instance, they've are certainly looking for linebackers 3 and 4 to step. Sounds like Pruitt is locking down LB3.
