Why do people hate on hires just because there no major names? Our New OL Coach has been Promoted pretty much everywhere he's gone. He was a 3 Year starting OT at West Virginia. He Started off at Concord at OL and worked his way to HC and built there program from the ground up. He then goes to FAU and coaches the best OLine unit in there programs history. He gets the Arizona OL Job under Rich Rodriguez but Rodriguez gets fired. He then goes to UNLV and gets the OC Job after one season. His former players and people he work with love him but some people hate this move because he's not a well known coach? Stacy Searles had a elite resume and he was terrible for us.

You have to understand that a lot of the board just isn't as clued-in on coaches & college football in general.

If a coach doesn't come from a winning powerhouse program people automatically assume they suck, but what they fail to realize is that the majority of the coaches on those staffs came from smaller schools & lesser known programs.

The funniest part about it is, last year we got a Coach from a winning powerhouse program like Bama & he turned out to be the arguably the worst Offensive coordinator in school history lol.

I am not complaining. Clearly an NFL resume did not make Butch Barry a good coach.

Stacey Searles was consistently awful at all of his jobs since LSU. Richt already should have known about his suckitude from UGA.

It’s something of a mystery how he stays in the Power 5.

I thought Richt averaged 10 wins a year at UGA? Is that sucking?

Liberty, well said mate. I most certainly do not profess to be all knowing or knowledgeable regarding coaches at various levels and programs in college football. Hence why I come here - to hopefully learn something from the reading of the forums. I know I’ve learned a lot from the likes of you, shoot even Brock 🤪. I appreciate the information shared, not the one-sided opinions.
