Talked about rotating 8-10 guys up front and game goal is 3 sacks and 9 tackles for loss along with 3 turnovers for the defense.

I think I may shed a tear when the defense walks on the field on 9/3. It's been way too long since we've had this kind of attitude and expectations. This is what Cane football is all about.

Youll be shedding tears and the Dline will be tattooing tears for every body they drop this season.

Good on Richt letting a position coach do so much media stuff. You never see that at other programs. I don't think Nickpoleon even lets coordinators do media. This might be Richt's way of prepping Kool to move up the coaching ladder.

Dont think he is prepping kool cuz rumph has been on wqam a few times since being hired. Banda has did interviews with espn. I just think richt isn't paranoid about having his coaches speak and he trust his staff. He letting them be grown *** men like they are.

He is not a controlling as... like Golden. Oh, and you're right, he is not paranoid at all.

Another part of it is him embracing the culture of Miami being a stepping stone to bigger roles either here or elsewhere. Also endears him to prospective staff members in the coming years who are looking to get their name out there in search of bigger opportunities. Big selling point will be that you won't get muzzled here.

It'll be important for him to sift through the vultures and the guys who will actually do the job while preparing to be OCs, DCs and HCs.

I hope I'm wrong, but I don't think we'll have Kul for more than a couple seasons. Unless Manny is no longer DC and Kul gets that job.

He's making 600k a year. That's more than a lot of DC's make. Richt knows exactly what he has. He's going to have a hard time making that as a new DC.

i'm not sure if kool wants to move up. he coached d-line at mizzou for 15 years and toledo for 5. he seems pretty comfortable sticking to position coaching, and it would be awesome if he decides to make this another lengthy tenure.

edit: corrected 5 years as dl coach at toledo.
