If our first 2 choices for OC are former HC's that prefer another HC spot, as has been reported regarding Applewhite and Fedora, that would explain it all pretty easily. And it would be smart (although risky) of Diaz and pals to wait this out, if it's a successful outcome.

Both Troy and Temple are interviewing this week. Some say Wisconsin OC Joe Rudolph is a favorite, so we might very well get Fedora or Applewhite if they don't get a HC spot because the $ and staff isn't right, or they pick someone else. If Diaz thinks this is a good gamble, cool with me. Of course if it turns to crap, gotta take responsibility and the bash.

The hold up among other things has probably been they really only wanna pay $700K - $900K at the most.

Didn’t they offer Diaz 1.5 million when Richt was making 4 million?

I don’t buy the “cheap” talk.

And on top of that , they can’t be paying the defensive staff some unordinary high amount , paying Diaz less than richt so money shouldn’t be an issue on offense

Exactly. Richt walked away from a 16M buyout. Manny is making much less than Richt made. The new DC has to be making much less than Manny made. ... There's no way the money isn't available.

These people are lazy and hiring people is work. They would pay Manny more to keep him and not have to hire replacement, then they give Manny HC for same reason. They didn’t have to work for the next HC. Now they have to hire new people and there is no work saving reason to pay extra.
