Dawson added of Restrepo continually being heavily targeted that “The ball finds you when you’re open, making plays and the quarterback is comfortable with you.”

He went on to say that some plays have Restrepo as the #1 read, others have his position as one of the options. He doesn't send plays in with the recipient pre-determined (unless it's a screen).

He doesn't seem to have any issue with the distribution of the football.

When asked about Horton, Brashard SMith and Tyler Harrell getting more reps this past weekend, he mentioned he expects that to continue. He said it was pre-designed to work them in more as the season progressed, citing the fact that X, JG and Colbie will likely hit a wall and physically get a little beat up. He noted that the offense has increased from 65-70 snaps early in the season to 80+ in the past two games. Guys feel that and need a break.
He expects those guys to see more reps as well as the TE going forward

So maybe we should have rested the frontline guys more during the easy games so that they wouldn’t start to fade during the tougher games mid-season.

Agree completely and I've been saying the same thing all morning. He was really good overall, but just seems like Murphy's Law, when he does make a mistake, it's an absolute killer. We don't ever get the luxury of our QBs interceptions to be glorified punts where the DB catches it and falls down 40 yards down the field. Ours are only inside our 30 yard line or we hit a DB on a dead run.

Seems like when a play needs to be made even our top guys who should be impact players make costly mistakes, while UNC fumble in end zone and scoop up and advance guys we should depend on all made COSTLY mistakes (Matt Lee snap, Parrish fumble, Tvd picks, can't clean up Matt mistake and fall on ball, kinchens biting on a covered guy in red zone, man wtf)

And since they got limited to no reps they get thrown in fire against top 10 teams on road.. sounds like a good recipe

When they went up tempo, we had lost Kelly leaving us thin at DE. It also forced everyone (staff and players) to think faster and more mistakes happened including his penalty. He also pointed out that they likely need to spend more time preparing for tempo as they only spend 4 plays.

I still like these coordinators. With more time kids like Wayne and Washington can come in and play impactful minutes.


It was nice to also hear Dawson explain why more kids need to play to allow someone like George to house that one vs get tackled. They need to get Ray Ray, BSmith, Horton, and Washington more snaps. Horton should be given more opportunities on 50/50 balls cause young isn’t getting it done. The other three should help keep the average speed of our plays much higher.

They need to rotate some of these guys and get them targets, Why is Brashard not playing, we heard soo much about Ray Ray and then nothing (he finally got the PR job but since he wasnt getting reps when he had a chance to run he called fair catch and smacked the ball when he realized it, no reps prior hurts there because limited feel)


And Guidry saying it after the fact is not something that really warms the heart.. How can we not be prepared for UNC tempo when we know they will do that?! We prepared by only doing 4 plays and realized real football doesnt work that way?! No **** guys blow assignments with tempo, thats the whole reason it gained popularity in first place, especially when dressed up with eye candy, Chip Lindsey is a Mahlzan disciple, Randy Clements is a Briles disciple, man wtf..

How about using TEMPO on O to expose the D to some of the same medicine? We have done very little true tempo which would help us drive up plays per game and opportunities. I do understand it will increase our opponents at the same time.

Especially against teams we have clear advantage over like GT.. But I think the philosophy we have is be mEtHoDiCal..
