Clappy

Sigma Alpha Mu fraternity is the one who flew the banner. Those dorks didn't represent the entire Canes fan base.

There were plenty of fans, including myself, who weren't clammoring for firing Butch. I had 100% confidence that with the talent Davis was accumulating, it was only a matter of time before we returned to the top 10. Lot of fans were disappointed in some of the losses in the late 90s, it was nothing like the ***** storm we're seeing nowadays. And there was always a light in the tunnel during Butch's reign because player development actually existed back then.

Please. Anyone who supported Butch was shouted down. Freckles? Botch? Those weren't frat boys saying that.

And I'm glad we can add you to the list of thousands of Canes fans who knew all along that Butch was the guy. Those darn frat guys with their silly banner. Everyone loved Butch.

As a grown man, calling Butch "Freckles" behind your keyboard doesn't prove much. Just because tough guys like you wanted to burn Butch at the stake doesn't mean every Cane fan out there shared your sentiment. Especially considering Davis had S. Florida on lockdown by the '98 recruiting class.

Wait, what? How did you come to the conclusion that I was the one writing that?

This is par for the course though. Just like the 120,000 people who claim that they were on the field after the UCLA game, we now have 99% of the fan base saying they knew all along that Butch was the guy.

Classic message board material.

No reason to get angry. Just because you wanted to fire Butch after the '97 season because you're a ******* and you never thought he'd turn things around - that's no reasonable justification to take it on other fans who are immensely more knowledgable about Canes football than yourself.

BTW, I was at the UCLA game. A friend of mine got ravaged by a police dog. I assume you weren't there - probably withering in self-pity in your studio apartment - surrounded by Popcorn magazines - and fuming that Butch should've been shytecanned after the Cuse game. Amirite?

You suck at insults. I could go down to the local middle school and hear better stuff.

I absolutely love that you were now at the UCLA game.

"I thought you were going to say you worked for the CIA."
"That old bit? No, I don't work for the CIA...I used to...I don't like to talk about it."

That's you. Now tell me about the time you ran out of the tunnel before the 1988 Orange Bowl.

Pulling for him and UTSA. He built that program from the ground up. He's got some talent there. Sloppy play cost them the Arizona game. Kansas State today. Go get em coach!

Here Texas San Antonio Roadrunners College Football Clubhouse - ESPN Why don't you go follow him at UTSA. Amazing how much of a winner he is when he's got to pull himself by his own bootstrap when no one, like Butch, is handing him anything and he has to build and win on his accord. Go follow him...

Clappy, like Butch, is an example of how the "fire the coach" mob mentality doesn't necessarily lead to better things. 2000-2004 was a pretty good run, but we wanted those guys fired and ended up with 6-7.

You would know after Urbie took your team and won handily with it!
