my buddy who played at UM during the butch/coker years says he thinks he is a great choice. I like him but i just think he would be off the NFL first chance he got.
he is also the guy who told me the day al golden was hired. "an al golden is not miami material."

I have mixed feelings about him. Assuming he wanted the job, I'm told that he is not a fan of recruiting. If that is the case, he would have to assemble a tremendous staff to help him out.

A guy with plenty of college HC experience only, please.

You wouldn't take a guy like Jim Mora Jr?

No. I'd go after a guy with a lot of college HC experience. A guy who has done more with less at the programs he's been at. A guy that has won and competed for conference championships consistently. Someone who is innovative, adaptable, and has a solid understanding of south Florida football and the skill sets of our athletes.

So you wouldn't take Jim Mora Jr? Interesting. He is pretty darn good.

This program staredt to atrophy when Chud left. When this program is right, it recruits itself. I would take Chud right now.

Jim Harbaugh is the obvious choice. When Condaleeza accepts the presidency the Stanford ties will be the deal maker.

This, it's been widely reported that Chud is not a fan of recruiting.

Oh, you mean right now? Absolutely. I thought you were referring to what UCLA did in 2012 when they hired him. He had zero college experience at the time they hired him.

It's definitely worked out well for UCLA but I don't think it's the route that Miami should take.

Yes in 2012. There are coaches in the NFL who may not have great success (Pete Carroll or Jim Mora Jr) during the first go around and are able to dominate in college simply because of the Xs and Os. They've competed against the best in the NFL and the challenge on game day isn't as great in college.

It's definitely worked out for them and as you pointed out, in a couple other cases. It's just not the route I would personally take if it were up to me. Then again, I'm just a HS AD and don't have any experience with the college game so I'm like everyone else in that I don't know squat.

I'm not convinced on Chud. Any other NFL coaches you think would be a good fit?

The thought of what Chud could do with Kaaya is worth it. Assume he will bring in old school type DC and hang on to the good recruiters we have. I wanted him as midseason replacement for Al. He will leave to go back to NFL but that is fine. I want coach who wants to win NC and for to pros. That is our old formula. Coker, Randy and Al wanted to stay forever guys. No thank you. Give me your JJ, Dennis and Butch.
