Texas probably wins 5-6 this year. They are hiring a new AD. Tons of money over there. Would they pay the buyout and fire him after two years?

He would rake at Miami. Not a Texas guy.

What would he do different at Miami? He has more resources than anyone in the nation right now and looks pedestrian to say the least.

A lot of Texas talent is maxed out before they get into college whereas in Florida the guys have more potential to grow because they haven't been exposed to proper coaching or facilities as the other athletes from different states

An AD won't be in place in time. Next year will be decision year for Strong

Explain why he would do well at Miami.

My though is (he's not my #1 choice by any means) he's an accomplished black head coach. Black kids and parents would flock to him. He hasn't forgotten how to coach since leaving Louisville. He just got thrown into an situation where no one really wanted him and his roster is worse than anyone realized.

Yes Charlie strong is well liked by the south Florida community. He would have our defense playing aggressive again. Without question

A few things:

1. "he's an accomplished black head coach"

Not sure why race is relevant at all. Also, how is he accomplished?

Without Bridgewater, 14-16 (8-9). That isn't an accomplishment, those are loser numbers. You ever think, that what he "accomplished" at UL was against inferior teams (talent) in an inferior conference. Combine that with the fact that he had Bridgewater, a heisman freak and you have Strong.

2. "He hasn't forgotten how to coach since leaving Louisville."

It doesn't appear that he remembers how to coach a Defense. He is now in Year 2 at Texas and he is supposed to be a Defensive Specialist. He is allowing 35+ PPG.

3. "He just got thrown into an situation where no one really wanted him and his roster is worse than anyone realized."

He voluntarily went to UT. He didn't have to go. He threw himself into the mix.

He had a poor first season. He doesn't seem to be improving in year 2. His defense is poor. His recruiting isn't that good. Not sure why you want a guy that loses against better talent/coaching. Texas has the best facilities and endless money, why do you want him if he can't win there?

Lol at the whole black angle.

Butch Davis, Urban Meyer, and Nick Saban are probably about as white as you can get and kids flock to them.

No thanks.

We are done hiring losers at this school.

Next coach has to have head coaching experience or do we get a talented o/d coordinator?

What is most important is that we get a head coach who is an X's and O's guy with a very aggressive mentality and approach to every aspect of the game.

"Recruiters" and "CEOS" aren't successful in this game. You win ball games, you get recruits. It's very simple. All of our past successful head coaches were X's and O's guys and brought something unique to the table. Schnelly with his offense, JJ with his defense, Erickson with his early spread. Then you have Butch who surrounded himself around future NFL coaches and head coaches.
