Charlie Strong staff

Charlie Strong is a slight more articulate version of Randy Shannon.

Will never be able to get the offensive side of the ball right and the defense is not good enough to overcome it.

I just read somewhere Strong has 15.9 million left on his contract, I'm guessing a good percentage of that would be the buyout.
Let's say we have to pay 5-8 million in buyout money and give him 4 million to coach.... Is he worth that? We have the money, but that is some serious jack..

For the last time, strong does not have a buyout.

He doesn't have a buyout Or at least not a standard one that would prohibit us from hiring him
 
Lol at comparing strong to Shannon. Put Shannon on that UL team and you have a couple more losses at least. I'm not the biggest Charlie fan but I think he got railroaded at Texas to a certain degree and is in the midst of getting it cleaned up.

Is he my first choice? No. But I think he would be really good here and I think if given another year he will have Texas turned around
 
The ironic thing is that if we didn't fire Shannon, Strong would still be at Louisville.

Strong got Teddy because Randy was fired.

Strong's record is smoke and mirrors.

His recruiting class this year is currently ranked #58 .

Again, people said the EXACT SAME THING about Randy and Al when they weren't improving: "the culture was so messed up, it's not fair!"

Maybe so, but if Shannon magically had Teddy B on the Canes a couple years earlier, I bet we would have had a couple more wins.

Like I said, Charlie strikes me as a more polished RS, and I mean that in the best way possible.

Again, people said the EXACT SAME THING about Randy and Al when they weren't improving: "the culture was so messed up, it's not fair!"

I see what you're saying but sometimes that does occur. Rich Rod at Michigan is an example of people undermining his efforts while he was there. Like I said, he's not first on my list or even in the top 5, but if it comes down to Strong, Chud, Mario or Schiano then I would take strong in a heart beat as he's an upgrade.

I've never heard of such a thing.
Anyone can come hire him away with no money to be paid to Texas...

Why would anyone think Strong would even consider leaving Texas for us. Absolutely crazy.

Yes and if it came down to choosing strep throat, cancer, ebola, or meningitis I'd take strep throat.

Being "not horrible" shouldn't be the goal. The goal should be to be champions.
 
I am too lazy to link it but I came across an interesting article about buyouts in general. They are becoming less and less common place than before for a variety of reasons

If not for a shanked punt and a missed extra point his team is 5-2 with wins over Cal and currently undefeated 12th ranked Oklahoma State. Charlie will get Texas on the right track and he will get his players in there. They will be a much better team this year. They were 6-7 in his first year. They are currently 3-4, but I think they will win their next 4 games. Baylor will probably crush them though.

I guess every college football analyst out there is misinformed. Charlie Strong is a terrible head coach.
