Funny how His detractors wanna post His 7-6 records, but don't take the time to look at what a $h!tty job His predecessor (Kragthorpe) did with that program.
Point blank, Strong SAVED Louisville after Kragthorpe CRASHED that *****.
And LMAO! @ He only won because of Teddy B., as if Harbaugh was posting 10-11 win seasons before Luck got there/stepped on the field...FOH!

I do not know why you object to people posting his Strong's records. It's just a fact. I just want to see what he does with no Teddy Bridgewater before I crown him. Say what you want, but Strong is a .500 coach without Bridgewater so far. Not sure why a wait and see approach on him is such a bad thing.

Not sure what Harbaugh has to do with a discussion about Charlie Strong but ok. You are right, Harbaugh benefited from Luck. But Harbaugh also went on to do an amazing job at San Francisco so he has a pretty solid track record outside of his Stanford days.

His Louisville teams looked more like Miami teams than any Miami team since 2003.

I'd take him in a heartbeat.

Seriously.

These dudes keep talking about "Bridgewater made him look good" but they forget that his defenses were nasty and his squad was loaded with NFL players.

Apparently that was a fluke.

He's in TEXAS. And he suks.

My nightmare is the big money boys at Texas fire his *** and hire Butch, and then give him another two million just to hire coordinators.

lol at Texas hiring Butch. I love Butch but he isn't getting a job like that.

Stop it...UL went 7-6 in 2011 WITH Teddy B., you act as if they just started winning 11-12 games soon as Teddy walked in the door.
And Harbaugh has plenty to do with this discussion, check His record before Luck stepped on the field.

They look awful - Texas gets it choice of some of the best players in the nation regardless of who is coach. 9 wins should happen every year not matter what

Lol at guys acting like Bridgewater was some transcendent once in a lifetime player. He was very good, but Skrong turned those Louisville teams into killers with that rabid pack of savages he assembled on defense.

It's funny that the same clowns who rode Folden's sack for 4 years are looking to bury Skrong after 1. It might not work out for him at UT, but a lot of that would have to do with zero buy in from the beginning from billionaire mega boosters like Red McCombs.

When your top bull lobbied hard against your hiring and even stated publicly that he'd like Skrong as DC but not HC that can pollute the environment against you quickly. You don't think an ego maniacal billionaire might want to be proven right in his initial negative opinion of Skrong?

Change of culture toughness coaches like Skrong need more than a year to completely overhaul a program. Took him 3 years to turn Louisville from a destroyed gutted program into someone no one wanted to play.

Texas couldn't have hired a guy who was more opposite than Mack Brown. If you're going to go in a 180 degree opposite direction then you **** well better expect huge growing pains. And when the school's top booster was against you from the start it makes it that much harder to get a foothold.

I love Butch but he isn't getting a job like that.

Why not, wasn't Texas His recruiting area under JJ? TBH, outside of UM, I think Butch is a fit at UT.

Texas is one of the top jobs in the country and the biggest job Butch has been in the running for was FIU. If Butch could get a job like Texas he wouldn't be unemployed. Miami should hire him but then again we aren't on the same level as Texas as far as top jobs go.

So, let me get this straight ...

... Some guys knew Golden was a failure at Miami from game 1 against Maryland ... But Charlie Strong needs 2 or 3 seasons before Texas should really expect anything?

The folks arguing that should realize that's the exact rationalization Miami has used to keep Al Golden.

They gave his a pass on years 1 and 2 because of the NCAA investigation, that means this is the start of his 3rd season ... The same period some of yall think Strong needs to clean up what Mack Brown left him.

Never mind what Shannon left Golden, huh??

And beyond that, it's not just about Strong losing ... It's how they lose. They're not even competitive. And his defenses don't even keep him in games, and that's his specialty.

Wait a second...

WTF was Butch's record at UNC? I don't recall UNC being very good but everybody wants Butch because why? He loads your team with NFL players and he fields a nasty defense. (i.e. Charlie Strong at UL)

That's a horrible argument because you wrote off 2 years of Folden's failure because of an NCAA investigation. You can't just scrap 2 years and act like they didn't exist. That investigation didn't make us lose any games.

LULZ at what Shannon left Golden. A bunch of NFL players is what he left him. How many Texas players got drafted last year? 0. First time that happened in forever at Texas.

Charlie Strong will be fine, the cupboards (at least on offense) were left extremely bare, so I'd say most of their issues so far are personnel related.

So in a couple of years when they'll finally have an adequate OL, and hopefully solid QB, Texas will be doing just fine.

Texas still got alot more talent then all the trams in thr big 12. Oklahoma oly got better but they are being blown out by 30 every loss.

Why are u still talking about UL defenses when texas defenses is a joke. Then to top it off out of the 14 games at texas he coaches 6 of them texas scored aingle digits lol disaster

And u talk about cubard bare well look at his recruiting class its horrible this year and it aint going to better if texas continues to get blown out again
