You are not wrong about Shannon. Firing Shannon was obviously touchy with local players and coaches who had known him since his prep days and by not paying him his money it created an atmosphere where other coaches could lure players away.

The problem with Luke is he is too much of a homer on the local talent. Luke would prefer we prefer we recruit guys like TuTu Atwell at QB. This doesn't excuse all the local talent we were either late offering or didn't offer. Luke just needs to understand that UM needs to do what is best for UM and sometimes that is going out of the area to get a player.

No doubt, but luke understands the college landscape better than most, tutu atwell should've been at UM, no if ands or buts, right now we dont really have one guy on offense that puts fear in people, atwell would have, now if lingard starts getting burn, with his speed, he's a big play waiting to happen. The problem at UM right now, its to many nice guys on the team, and the play shows, but if we had more players where players were afraid to let the certain players down, this team would play at a higher level. When we keep hearing, players confidence had to be built up, that let's you know this is not a normal UM team. Somebody should've been done ojomo'ed jw15, if somebody swing on em a couple of times he'll stop that half *** selfish ****. Coach diaz knows jw15 is not the leader this team needs, he's a pouter and the #1 crybaby, let em hit the transfer portal, its better to be 6 & 6 with loyal players than to be 6 & 6 with players that had to be catered too, looks foolish for a player like jw15 and his mediocre *** play, to be threatening to leave and pouting as if he's a heisman trophy contending qb, tine to move on from him!

If Manny had the balls--which I don't think he does--he'd send that fat **** packing back to LaTech and replace him with Charlie Strong tonight. That upgrade would be ideal.

This is a flat out lie. Strong didn’t do well in Texas because he didn’t have support in Texas. As soon as he was hired, there were boosters coming out all over the place saying he would be a better fit as a DC. That’s after he was already a 10 game winning coach at Louisville. The bottom line is the good old boys didn’t want him at Texas, and the high school coaches followed their lead.
 
So now the stage is set for Shannon to be interim coach for the bowl game, us to get matched against them inthe Independence Bowl and provide a fitting bookend conclusion to TNM Revenge Tour 2019.

Strong had finished two good years at Louisville where he went 10 and 2 and 11 and 1. It is worth noting that in both years Strong lost to teams that Louisville was more talented than. Texas had offered Nick Saban 10 years $100 million, so the Strong hire was a bit of a letdown to many of the boosters.

Some guys are just better coordinators than HCs. Less responsibility and greater focus on their side of the ball. Bo Pelini is another example but there are many.

You can stand on all the ignorance you like. He wasn’t wanted in Texas. The AD made a choice that the boosters couldn’t stomach primarily based on his pigment. He wasn’t one of them. Those same boosters welcomed their current loser HC with open arms as if he had accomplished more than Strong along the way. I personally know several men who coach football in Texas. I know several CANES in Houston. The HS good ole boys followed suit. Common sense should tell you that it’s all connected.

You don’t know what you’re talking about. The article is a spin job.
